    Honey & Sugar Question

    What kind of sugar did you use? Also how much, (a %) of the fermentables was each addition? I add corn sugar to my brew to up the abv. Normally bump it up by .010 points I added macadamean nut honey to my wit thats bottle conditioning right now. But to keep the honey flavor I dissolved it...

    hahaha nice akryder. Thats about what my garage looked like. Also bstacy1974, I already built a nice immersion chiller, and since the tap water is nice and cold here it works like a champ. I think my best bet will be making a connection to my kitchen sink. A little update for you guys...

    Yea I was in my heated garage. All my troubles took place outside of the safe zone lol. If only this house had a spigot in the garage like my house in vegas... Or maybe if it was hot here like vegas!

    I have nothing big enough to fit my brewpot or I would have done this.:drunk: Still havnt figured out what to do with the spigot.... that can wait a few days. Frustration and wanting to get this looooong bre day over with. I have syphoned with my mouth plenty of times and nothing ever went...

    Freezer Chilling!

    maybe the bottle feels colder since it was in the freezer. But in reality it is warmer than it would normally be from the fridge? Would explain more head and retention.

    well I guess since it says: "Corn adjuncts such as flaked maize may be used for up to 20% of the grain bill." and "Corn based sugars in the boil are also commonly added in the place of corn." If you were to use 20% of your fermentables as corn sugar I would imagine it would have...

    where did you read that? corn sugar is not supposed to add any sort of flavor at low levels. Hell I just added 22 ounces to my IPA to up the ABV.

    Everything was going GREAT. Was done brewing my newest IPA and started hooking up my chiller. I hooked up the outside end of the hose last because it was so cold out. Now I have spigot insulators so this is not supposed to happen, but the knob would NOT turn... no problem I would just get...

    yea you didnt hit your target gravity but thats alright, nothing crazy is going to happen. There are ways to increase gravity but since you pitched the yeast I wouldnt bother.
