In the "Secondary"- How Long is Too Long?

Right now, it's all I have.... I thought about that though.. This is my first batch. I'm considering a better bottle, but at this point, I'm trying to make sure everything is perfect. There's lots of time to brew more. I'm just glad that SWMBO likes porters and stouts..... :ban:

In the "Secondary"- How Long is Too Long?

How long is "too long" to leave a porter in the "secondary"? I have a porter that's in my plastic conical, it's been there for three weeks. I dropped out the flocculated yeast after two weeks. How long is it "OK" to leave the beer in there? It looks like bottling isn't going to happen again this...

    CO2 in Metro Detroit

I'm in central Macomb County. From what I can see, most of the welding shops around here (within 5 miles or so) don't actually fill tanks, they swap as the filling is done somewhere else. $80 isn't bad I guess, as to buy a new off the net is like $60 and then there is shipping. So a $10...

    CO2 in Metro Detroit

Any good places to deal with in Metro Detroit? I'm trying to decide if I should buy a cylinder (probably aluminum) or go the lease route. Does anyone have any experiences they can share? Good or bad, don't be shy, name names.... inquiring minds want to know... Who is home user friendly??

    First Batch O.G question..

OK, well I brewed up my very first batch today. Everything seemed to go along pretty smoothly. (I'd already done probably 100 batches in my mind over the past few weeks) Everything that is until I took my O.G. reading, and my brain went "oh oh... what's happening here???". I brewed a Brewers...

    Water Treatment

Dragonmead is great, but we (SWMBO and I) go to Sherwood's more often as it's closer to home. Still have several other places to try sometime also, but we usually don't plan it well enough and just end up at the regular haunts...

    Water Treatment

Do any of you do anything in the way of water treatment to your brew water? Here in the Detroit area we have pretty good water from the Detroit water system. Other than filtering it to remove the chlorination, is there anything else I should do? Or, should I even worry about that? MotorD...
