i would recommend looking for a used keg. I just bought some off craigs list for $50 each, cut the tops off with an angle grinder and you have a 15.5 gallon SS brew kettle. If you're looking in the $50-100 range there is nothing better than a keg.

i have a ~80' 3/8" OD IC, its pretty solid. I ended up putting some extra solder to reduce space between coils. i guess hose clamps might work, but it would be hard to shimmy them over your connections and slide them down the tubing, depending on where you want to put them.

The reason i was thinking to have a therm in the kettle was because I was planning on recirculating the wort through my CFC. This way I could measure the temp in the kettle and see when Im at pitching temps.
