    QD for temp probe?

im building probes now, for my netduino microcontroller. Are the probes in the picture above these? Brewers Hardware 4" Stainless Steel Temperature Probe End. what sensors do you stick in there? LM35? Thanks!

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

got my netdunio the other day, wired up 4 lm35 temp sensors, wrote some basic C# for it. My 4 sensors are posting temps within 1 degree F of each other so im pretty happy. Ill make a thread when the rest of the project materializes but heres what I plan to do: 4 LM35 sensors (1BK, 1MT,1HLT, 1...

    Weldless brew stand.

like the look of the green metal, I'm building one of these shortly (working on the keggles now) how does the green paint hold up after use?

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

'I have never been a big fan of writing in c#, but I took to c++ easier so that is probably why.' well if you like C++ why not just use COBOL? ;)

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

+1 to rolling your own reuse wouldn't allow me to dork around with a new development realm (DotNet microframework and embedded programming at large) Picked up some LEDs and a bread board today at Radio Shack, any part of me that was non-nerdy died today.

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

if you're comfortable with c i would stick with arduino otherwise if you know C# get the netduino.

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

you can run higher level languages (C#) in the netdurino. Sure you can probably write crap code on it that runs out of memory but if you know what you're doing, and don't try to do things that probably should be done on a microcontroller than I dont see an issue. That being said i haven't...

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

cool beans thanks for the links. What did you use to fill the gap between the sensor and the probe wall? JB Weld? something else?

Arduino instead of BCS or Brewtroller

how did you build those thermowells and where did you buy the xlr connectors? I just bought a netdurino (audurino except it runs DotNet micro framework) and cant wait to get started.

    DIY Submersible Temperature Probe

Ok cool thanks for the pic. Super excited to get this setup. couple of questions, I see you list 22 gauge wire, but I have a bunch of cat 5 laying around ~500' is that heavy enough? what do you use to termunate the lines ot did you feed them directly to your audriuno?

    Keggle OR 15 gallon Megapot

Kegs are way more cost effective than megapots or blichmanns. So yeah if you have tons of cash to burn, get the megapot or blichmanns (do they come in gold plated handles yet) , just my .02

    DIY Submersible Temperature Probe

i just bought a few LM35 sensors and a netduinio. I'm gonna need to build probes at some point and was wondering what your thoughts on using just 1/2" OD copper tubing and soldering a cap on the end of it. Do you think this will work? Don't know where to get the SS tubing otherwise.

    Corny level monitoring

twitter4j is a great api for making tweets. If you want it to tweet wouldn't be too difficult.

    Keggle OR 15 gallon Megapot

Keg buy on craigslist and save money. Got mine for $50 each, npt couplings are $2.50 at NB. Now I just need a welder. Kegs rock!

    Chiller modifications

im going to be doing the exact same thing soon. I have ~80 feet of 3/8OD in my IC, there are alot of kinks in it now, so when i take it apart I will cut out the kinks and solder to get the best flow possible.

    dumb pump question

I hear that you shouldn't run a march or chugger pump dry. How does one avoid doing this when transfereing from one vessel to another? for example to dough in, when you transfer from the hlt to the mash tun, and want to transfer every drop wont you run the pump dry momentarily when the...
