    DIY Brew Stand?

These burners are great. I now have build and use three sets (two doubles and one single). They are really simple. As for bolt together brew stands, that is how I built mine. It is rock solid and adjustable. I have changed it up a couple times with time being the only cost.

Revised Baltic Porter w/ Jamil's input

A few adjustments on the recipe I posted yesterday thanks to the gracious advice from the Pope: Sputnik 12-C Baltic Porter Size: 18 gal Efficiency: 75.0% Attenuation: 78.0% Calories: 253.59 kcal per 12.0 fl oz Original Gravity: 1.076 (1.060 - 1.090)...

    Brewpastor's Sputnik Baltic Porter

They have common roots but are really pretty different at this point. The porter is drier/more attenuated and cleaner, with as much as a third less IBUs. Think of an Imperial cross between a brown porter and a schwartzbier and you get some idea of a Baltic Porter. Lager fermentation, none or...

    Hop torpedo

I got mine on ebay. Otherwise it will be crazy expensive I suspect.

    Hop torpedo

Great information. Thanks. I thought I remembered that the ran the beer through the torpedo very slowly, so the 3 pass thing makes sense.

    Hop torpedo

I have a homemade torpedo devised for dry hopping like SN. It is an inline dairy filter. It is a try-clover canister with screen filters inside, you probably have seen them around. It is about 18" long and 5" wide. Beer goes in one end and out the other, passing through the filter chamber on the...

Brewpastor's Dawn of a New Day Imperial Pilsner

What was your OG? My plan is to mash LOW and attenuate high. *Yeast pee - that is good. How about yeast farts?

    Imperial Pilsner

Any further thoughts on this brew? How did the GU/BU balance end up? How did it age? Any changes you would make?

Brewpastor's Dawn of a New Day Imperial Pilsner

I did not specify the yeast because I haven't settled on that. I hope to simply use yeast from one of the local micros and make it easy on myself.

Brewpastor's Dawn of a New Day Imperial Pilsner

Another recipe in the works... I want to try the new Delta Leaf hops. I also want to try my new hop screen in combination with my whirlpool chiller as an in-kettle hopback. Further, I want to try a new idea I have for a home hop torpedo (such as SN created). So I am looking for balanced...

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

Never mind, I see you are making BMC. So how many flushes does it take to fill your fermenter?

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

I have lost track of your progress. Great to see all you have gotten done! Great sign. Do you make any beer? :D

    Using Tap Water

What he said... I would advise working hard on fermentation before you get too busy with water treatment. When fermentation temperatures are controlled you can then move to water and other secondary interests. Just my 2 cents.
