HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I see you mentioned the "pi". I don't know that it matters but I am using an old pc running debian wheezy and not a Raspberry Pi. I have read a little about the pins and at the risk of sounding terribly uniformed and out of line I will ask another question. Is it as simple as changing...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Soooo . . What options does that leave me? Should I try and start over to see if it is an installation issue? Is there a way to "fix" the issue Elkoe mentioned? Give up and get 2 arduino leonardo's instead?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I tried the new .hex that wbarber69 posted. I end up with the same results. It indicates no installed devices and everything appears to operate in the same manner. wbarger69 you mention exploring some python script. Any suggestions?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I really appreciate the help. I gave it another try and ended up with this. While it is closer and I did select the read values button. I still am unable to chose a function and I can not find where my relays are as there is no pin address.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I can and have assigned them to the pins that FuzzeWuzze posted in the first post. I am still unable to get a temp read out of the probes or any think to change in the function drop down. There must be something I am missing.

So here is what I got with both probes setting on the same spot on a table in my basement (guessing around 65 degrees F). I am also having difficulty finding out how to get the relays to show up. The screens that I have are nothing like what FuzzeWuzze posted in post 1.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So along every step of the way I have struggled with this project and this is no exception. With help from day_trippr and wbarber69 I finally got my BrewPi up and hosting the websites for 2 arduinos. With FuzzeWuzze and the rest I finally got my arduinos programmed (Mega 2560's). Now I am...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I have tried everything FuzzeWuzze Suggested. Still no love! I did get this reply fro elco: Commented by elco: You don't seem to have the arduino-core package installed, so it cannot find the boards.txt file in the default location: /usr/share/arduino/hardware/arduino/boards.txt Any...

Yes, I did select no on both of the radio buttons. I also run an old HP PC with Debian Wheezy. I will try and check and see if the file is there.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So Thanks a ton FuzzeWuzze! I really appreciate the effort. I gave it a try and things are definitely different, however, I still got this error. Sep 19 2014 17:16:01 Notification: New day, creating new JSON file. Sep 19 2014 17:18:03 Notification: Script started for beer 'My First BrewPi...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

If it makes any difference I have 2 of the exact same model. They are sainsmart mega 2560 (developer?)and are brand new with no file ever loaded to them. I read FuzzeWuzze's post about a blank program to get them to run but didn't know if that applied to a brand new board?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Me again! I am so very thankful that members like day_trippr, FuzzeWuzze and wbarber69 can help a noob like me get this far. So I got everything running to the point of flashing my arduino and then I have issues again. I try to reprogram the arduino from the web interface. It starts when I...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I had a hard drive issue and had to start all over. I followed all instruction and thought I was doing well. Went to the web browser and tried to access brew pi and got the "brewpi Reporting for duty" in the header of the browser but the body only gave me this error. . */ // load default...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So what is to be gained by adding the GROUP = "brewpi" portion of the line? It is absent in day_trippr's instruction. Not sure if it matters just trying to learn what does what here. SUBSYSTEM=="tty", KERNEL=="ttyACM*" , ATTRS{serial}=="A902TDXG", SYMLINK+="arduino_fridge", GROUP="brewpi"

OK. I am little lost as to what you mean but I am willing to accept that. Is there a way to fix the issue?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I did everything exactly as outlined in day_trippr's post with the exception of i named min brewpired and brewpiblack instead of brewpi1 and brewpi2. The localhost worked! BrewPi Reporting for duty! Does this help troubleshoot my problem trying to access it via IP address?
