If you have doubts about the CO2 in the head space of your fermenter you could buy a hand held Co2 gun and give it a shot or 2, this should take care of the problem. I always give my fermenter a couple of shots if I do a secondary prior transfer.

Most of my wort comes out cloudy I never have worried about it, I do cold crash and this seems to help with drop any impurities out and clear the beer and when I pour my beers I hardly ever have any trub in my bottles.

As with all manufacturing you must include personnel cost. This is not a take home project to do as time allows. My time is always worth more when I can be doing something more fun ie. drinking home brew, at the lake drinking home brew, with family drinking home brew and visiting with friends...

Not a real big deal, make your own the valve is already there and you just need a hose from pump to top of kettle.

port on top is for recirc of mash its a spray nozzle to keep the mash from tunneling and the temp probe for mashing, once mash is done the lid comes off for boil. Check out the video on the High Gravity site.:)

You should have no problems with the space heater your temp controller will control the on and off just fine for the temp. Many brewers use various things to heat with such as wraps on fermenters, light bulb in paint cans, heating pads, ect.
