How far away from your freezer is the tree?? I would consider running a large diameter pvc pipe (same diameter as your tree) from your freezer to and possibly into the tree allowing the freezer to keep this air cold. You could wrap the pvc if you want in some insulation, to minumize the thermal...
Nice start. It looks like a lot to do. I was lucky when I did mine I had carpet and pad which I tore up in one day. I cleaned the concrete and then got one of those garage paint kits and put that down with some non-skid mixed in the epoxy. Its nice when the wives want us to put all of our...
In my area I have to buy the strut material at HD, Lowes, or Menards. The struts are in the electrical dept. and are 18.96 at my retail locations. Commerical plumbing and electrical stores that sell to the public are where the struts are cheaper I believe.

I would also like to see a close up of your wheel mounting solution. I will be mounting my wheels with the strut in the same configuration. I'm not sure about using right angle brackets, and I can't make out exactly what you did there.
Darkness,
I see that you have some keggs covered in bubble wrap and then stretch wrapped. I have used the industrial strength sticky backed 1 1/2 in wide or so velcro from Wal-Mart and it makes wrapping and unwrapping keggs a snap. I use it on my conicals as well.
I also guess I need to thank you for the overall thread too. I switched to 10 gallon batches a while ago but still use my old 5 gallon home-made sculpture. I still only use a 10 gallon electrified cooler for my HLT because I'm afraid of any additional weight in my 2 tier system. After seeing...
I have mine shielded from the wind and I also fire in the garage. The boil kettle bottom should normally be quite aways from the tip of the blue flames this allows all of the little flames to make one huge plume of heat. You want to use this huge plume of heat instead of the small individual...
I fire my 20 gallon boil kettle with a slightly larger jet burner. FYI the burner I have has to be 15 inches below the cooking surface for maximum efficiency and correct burn. A good way to tell is there should be no black soot on the kettle after use. 5 inches below your kettles may not be enough.
My pearle don't smell, but the sterling are smelling good but there isn't really enough to warrent picking at this time. So your plant did produce later during the traditional harvest time... thats good that will tone down my freak out a little. Thanks
Well you heard it right my vines are flowering for some reason. Last year we had a really dry summer here in KS and I'm wondering if that had something to do with it, or the warm spring and length of the day??... There aren't to many flowers, just at the top, however the leaves on the vine had...
I would love to know what differences you tasted?? Was the roast to previlant??
I've been looking to brew this beer lately and came across this thread.
It's worth noting that they have slightly changed the recipe I think. There website now lists Nugget hops being used which are...
Just a shot of the EMF brewery in action. RIMS system: Pump, homemade heat exchanger,New keggle mash tun, HLT cooler with water heater element. Wort is pumped up to the garage, cooked with direct fire from a 330,000 BTU jet burner and then returned downstairs for cooling and fermenting.
I Love lacing and or legs on my glass and I always have flaked on hand but many breweries don't use flake anymore. If seems mills are a little tougher than they used to be. This allows the Breweries to customize the roast they use. A good example is Guiness Draught.
In this recipie...
Nice! I almost forgot about this recipe until I got the emails on the thread recently...ya know how it is brewing for friends and Super bowl, but I want to do this one for me. I've pretty much got my landshark, and corona clone down time to brew this one next. Thanks and happy brewing:tank:
Since it turned out so nice I'm curious about how long it took, and if you used the gelatin? I'm glad your first lager turned out so well. Congrats:mug:
soured beer is not only exposed to the air but light. If light can penitrate through the beer you will not only get a soured beer but a skunky one too. Skunky is that a word?? Anyway I would stay with souring either guiness or a darker coffee like beer to help with the flavor not change it.
