    COOPERS IPA with DEXTROSE?

Fatgodzilla, THAT was the kind of answer I was looking for. I am just starting out here and plan on doing a bit of experimentation. The Coopers kits seem like a good platform to use to that end.

    COOPERS IPA with DEXTROSE?

Yes, BUT this is what the store sold me. And there are a lot of Aussie Coopers recipes where they are using 1kg of dextrose, no malt. I just don't think it would make a good IPA or Stout. Has anyone actually tried it, or is it too horrible to contemplate?

    COOPERS IPA with DEXTROSE?

I imagine that the can of NO BOIL extract makes up the fermentables, plus the 2.2 # of dextrose that the LHBS says add. the 4# is what the seller is giving away with the kit. I guess it was intended to make a rather strong brew? Enough to make the brew and have enough left over for priming? I...

    COOPERS IPA with DEXTROSE?

The recipe says to use 500gr of DME and 300gr Dex. What advantage would there be in using all Dex? And does 4# pounds seem excessive?

    COOPERS IPA with DEXTROSE?

Could someone give me the pros and cons concerning using a Coopers Kit and Using Dextrose for the fermentable. One of the LHBS is selling these at a good price but is including 4 # of Dextrose. Various beers like IPA, STOUT, Pilsner and wheat are being offered in the COOPER Brewmaster kits. I...

    When to bottle?

I can wait, but I do want to free up my fermenter for batch #2. I am unclear as to what i will lose if I rack to my secondary, where it can sit for 2 weeks ,if I will still have yeast to eat my priming sugar then. I guess I still have a lot to learn!

    When to bottle?

OK, I pitched on Sunday, OG 1045. Furious bubbling for 36 hours now on wednesday eve no bubbles. My gravity is 1020 now. Some patches of yellow still on top floating , not much. I plan on bottling or pitching to a secondary next monday when I am off. Should I go ahead and bottle so my yeast...

First brew in the fermenter.. What to Expect?

The cooling initially took about 20 minutes and I did use ice. It was around 80 when I stopped. I let it sit so long because 1) it was my first batch and 2) I wanted the wort to be cool enough so as not kill my yeast. I live in Florida and I was very concerned I would not be able to keep my...

First brew in the fermenter.. What to Expect?

First time brewing, using a True Brew Amber Ale. Followed instructions, Brewed for 30 minutes then added a 1/2 tsp of Irish Moss for last 15 minutes. I had some difficulty getting a good boil, on my glass rangetop with 1.5 gal of water. I didn't add the ingredients until it was boiling so...

New to Brewing in Florida.. Recommendations?

I am ready to take the plunge to begin brewing. Here in Florida temperatures are a bit high even indoors, in the 78-79 range. What can anyone recommend as to how to get started, what equipment to buy and what ingredients will work best given my warm climate?
