So i plugged in my control panel today, pushed the led pushbutton switch....and BLAM, the ammeter flashed and went dark! Looks like I fried the meter. Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong? My only guess is that I wired the power supply lines in place where the coil leads should have...
I guess what I was referring to was your chart on page 6, post #56. It seems that this inverse relationship was expected, although it doesn't seem to make sense to me. I know enough about electrical engineering just to get myself into trouble, but I was under the impression that this is just a...
Thanks again for all your help. I posted my completed build in the thread last week. I have yet to fire it up, but hope to do so here when the weather gets a little warmer up here. Something that I totally passed over when reading your thread before was when you did the collection of pictures...
Put the last coat of paint on the control panel last night. Thanks again to pogden for this forum and also a few PM's on the side to help me through this one. I stripped out my old PWM box and used some of the items in this build, which I have to say went much more smooth than I remember the PWM...
So it's obvious you're a person that likes to throw money away...that or you are a Blichmann rep. In any case, why not just pick up a Camco Ultra Low Density Water Heater 5500W and you're good to go? Those Blichmann coils are going to cost you almost two bills. That Camco heater is $20 on...
This is my FINALLY finished electric brew system and brew sculpture. Don't fret your little face....everything is GFCI protected my friends. PRetty awesome though with the 5500w element, got my strike water from nearly freezing in my garage to temp in less than 20 minutes....just insane for a 11...
...^^^.....and apparently I was the one being an ******* earlier. In any case, I'm really not trying to come off as an expert, but you are not ready for all grain. Worry less about the equipment you need, and understand the process first, because you are lost in the sauce my friend.
If you honestly do not know what I mean by cooling device (CFC, IC, Plate Chiller...etc.), and why you would need a propane burner or some other thermal source...you ARE NOT ready for AG. Sorry.
Mash Tun, Hot Liquor Tank, Boil Kettle, Mill, Carboys, Tubing, Sight Glass, Thermometer (accurate one), Propane Tank, Propane Burner, Matches, Brewing Software, Some Form of Chilling Device, ...that should get you started.
So I can't take a picture of it since all my equipment is up in Duluth, MN, and I still am living part time here in Colorado, but this is essentially how my electric brewery will be set up. Already have all the hardware built...just need to run a 220 line out to my garage.
2 problems here brah.
First you say they use 1# of hops per barrel...true..but also incorrect. they "DRY HOP" with 1 lb of hops per barrel. Also, not sure where you got your education in math, but there are 31 gallons of beer in 1 US Beer Barrel. Thus, 1 lb of hops in a barrel is roughly 2.66...
