    Tippy -single tier brew stand

Also, we have put in a lot of thought to it and the way we are thinking is best to get it going, using what we have and buying as little as possible, is to start with a factory grade stainless steel table as the base and welding 3 stainless 1 1/2 inch stainless angle iron (or square) posts onto...

    Tippy -single tier brew stand

Has anyone used one of these??? http://www.agrisupply.com/carolina-cooker-burner-cooker-stand/p/83430/&sid=&eid=/ for a base maybe? For $300 with burners, it seems like a steal!

    Anyone hard-piped their whirlpool inlet?

What pump are you using? I cant imagine that it would take that long to transfer wort!

    Tippy -single tier brew stand

I am currently trying to design a single tier brew stand that allows for 2 of the converted kegs to tip (MLT and Boil Kettle. I don't see a point for the HLT to tip), so that I can clean them easily. My father in law (lets call him Ed) can weld and has some scrap stainless etc, but I am willing...

    Anyone hard-piped their whirlpool inlet?

OK... that is great to hear about the clog (as well as the trub). I think i will mount it around the 4 gallon mark and most likely place it directly above the spigot . Thank you for taking the time to respond. It really has given me some perspective.

    Connecticut Shirron Plate Chiller

What is the size of the chiller? I know you said it is a 10 plate but how long and wide is it? Also, if I may ask, why are you selling? Lastly, where in CT are you located? I am in Hebron.

    Anyone hard-piped their whirlpool inlet?

OK so does that mean that you cant do a whirlpool on a 5 gallon batch (because you are pointing it down)? Does it whirlpool somewhat vigorously? If you dont whirlpool, which you seemed to say that you dont do all the time, do you get a lot of trub/breakage? Do you ever get any blockage ?I...

    Anyone hard-piped their whirlpool inlet?

I have not been using my keggles but just bought a bunch of stuff to update them and get them back into production. I got the SS chugger, the side pick up tube, the whirlpool arm (both from bargain fittings). I also use an IC. You say you have great results? My questions are about the...

    New from Rhode Island

Welcome from CT! I am from Cranston RI originally and go up there from time to time. (as a matter of fact tonight is one of those times) Where in RI are you from? Perhaps we can exchange some home brews at some point! I am just getting back into the hobby myself, after about a 3 year hiatus...

If you like first time AG threads...

Ok I hear ya... For me brewing is not only fun and gives me room to experiment, its also cheap! So I try to make it as inexpensive as possible. I pay $9 plus tax for yeast at my LHBS and if I needed 3 thats almost $30 with tax!! Thats more than I spend on most beers that I make total for...

If you like first time AG threads...

If you feel like you need more yeast anyway to get it going for a large batch thats got a high gravity, then why not make a starter???? WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY cheaper and more practical anyway....

If you like first time AG threads...

Why pitch that much yeast? 2 vials and you thought about a 3rd??? WHY? That makes NO SENCE to me at all! Once you have krausen then the yeast is doing its job. If it subsides its because its is done (or stalled and then I can see adding more yeast). Or even if its a new strain for a specific...
