How many carb drops to get 4 vols in a 750ml bottle?

You can use the calculator, just need to know the average weight of the carb drops. It should say the total weight and quantity on the packet. Also check the ingredients on the carb drops. Sucrose or glucose?

Who inverts bottles after a few days?

Thanks for the replies guys. My normal procedure is to put sugar (either drops or powder) in the bottle and briefly flip once it's capped to 1) make sure the cap doesn't leak, and 2) mix the sugar around a bit. Then after a couple days I will again briefly flip the bottle. I can usually see the...

Who inverts bottles after a few days?

Just wondering who does this? I don't bother with bulk priming and just put sugar directly into bottles. Turn the bottles upside down carefully a couple days after bottling to make sure the sugar/yeast is mixed around. Is it worth it? Is it potentially mixing oxygen in the headspace into the beer?

Comments on water profile for hoppy red ale

Thanks for the reply. I will be brewing all-grain with full volume mash. I believe I am heading down the path of adding a small amount of gypsum to up the calcium and sulfate slightly, and then phosphoric acid to get the pH in range if needed. I will use a program like Bru'n water to help.

Comments on water profile for hoppy red ale

After years of saying that I wanted to make my own beer I have finally started! I first made two extract batches then moved on to BIAB (5 gallon batches). So far I have made a tripel and a belgian dark strong ale with the BIAB method. I feel like I have the process pretty well sorted with proper...
