yeast would need more than sugar to ferment correct? if so what nutrients are those?????? do the juice from raisins help with fermentation this is what i heard?

I heard you can just put on the cap of a bottle on loosely so the co2 can escape and oxygen wont get in. ..... so if its that simple then whats the reason for an airlock? or even those who use condoms?

for the first hydrometer reading, do you test the potential abv before adding the yeast? if so my question is how do you determine how much yeast to add in relation to sugar and the final alcohol content you want............ because the amount of sugar you add will give you your potential...

everything u mentioned they dont sell in bc liquor stores, u live in america so u have that privilege, but here everything in the liquor is expensive and u gonna be taking cash out your wallet.
