cooling wort, yeast pitching
Sorry I know this has been answered, but I'm steeping grains right now, and don't have time to find the best answer. When I'm done with my wort, and it needs to cool, in an ice bath, what temp am I looking to get it to, to add it to my fermenter, and what temp to pitch the yeast at. Thanks...- boomermjc

stopper and airlock
The airlock had vodka in it. The stopper now has a pool of vodka in it, that is what I'm referring to. I was thinking for my future brews, is there a lubricating agent that could be used, such as vasoline for connecting the airlock to the stopper for a better seal?- boomermjc

I started fermenting my apfelwein last night in my glass carboy, and this morning there was no bubbling from the airlock. So I figured there was an air leak somewhere, so I put some vodka into the stopper, and sure enough the airlock started to bubble. Putting vodka into the stopper should...- boomermjc
