    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

Is a 20 gallon pot too big to do 5 gallon batches in still? Worried I wont be able to get the grain all in the strainer if the water is lower? Would like the ability to do both 5 and 10 gallon batches? For 10 gallon batches do i just double grain, hop and yeast amounts? I would probably...

how to tell when fruit is done

Is it normal for the blue berries to float at the suface of the carboy though? I was told because I froze them I did not need to puree them or anything else.

    Infection?

This does not look like an infection to me but just wondering. It is on Bell's May 2012 Cream Ale brew. Brewed on 6-2-12 and fermented at 62 degrees. Was thinking of bottling it this weekend as it says it is done. Thoughts?

how to tell when fruit is done

I brewed the Bell's May Ale and it called for 2 pounds of blue berries. After 2 weeks of fermentation I add frozen blue berries to my secondary and racked on top of them. They are all now floating and I would like to know how to tell when to bottle.

    How Great will this tatse?

Thanks for the quick replies. Also I mashed at about 151-152 as I did not have the recipe in front of me and it called for me to mash at 149 for 90 minutes and boil for 90 and add a touch more water. I only did 60 minute mash and boil but did do a mash out at 169 and kept dunking in and out...

So on Saturday I did my first 2 biab brews and feel pretty good about them. First one went off without a hitch except my numbers were a little low. Probably because of grinnd. Second one too, except I forgot 1 part. I brewed the light hybrid beer #10 in brewing classic styles book, which is a...

I have a blue moon clone and maple wheat ale that have been fermenting for a month now. Neither one have changed in finished gravity in a couple weeks but they are still bubbling. One bubble every few minutes. Is this normal? They are sitting at 64-66 degrees right now but have been around...
