    Trub/Hop Filter from BrewersHardware

Got you, but I have no issues with grain particles. I recirculate my mash which ends up making a great pre-boil kettle filter. And in regards with what makes it to the fermenter, what shouldn't be in the fermenter? The little hop particles and trub that make it in can't possibly make much of...

    Trub/Hop Filter from BrewersHardware

So if you don't have a plate chiller, this does not really have any advantage? Too bad if true....It looks really cool :)

    Trub/Hop Filter from BrewersHardware

I get that this is one beautiful piece of equipment, and that with the use of a plate chiller it will help with cleanup etc. but I use a counterflow chiller and am trying to figure out what real difference this makes for the beer itself. After a recirculation chilling, I whirlpool and then off...

    DIY Instant hot water heater

Kevin, Thanks so much for jumping into this. sort of off topic, but how does the steam work for the MT steps? Is is a jacketed MT? Also in regards to the flow of liquid....your system goes straight to the bottom the spirals to the top? Where did you get the fitting that you use on the top...

    DIY Instant hot water heater

I thought about that....I'm just wondering if it's not more efficient to heat a copper coil then trying to heat a keggle. In the end adding a burner would be like using 2 times 35,000 btu....no? In other words, first heat with coil, then with burner under HLT.

    DIY Instant hot water heater

I may be nuts about this....but please give me your thoughts. I've been thinking about setting up an instant hot water heater to shave some time off the brewing process....thing is that they are expensive as hell....so I was thinking that it might be possible to use a copper coil (like a...

Installing ball lock gas post onto a sanke keg?

Golddiggie, I have the Brewer's Hardware fermenter kit, and all I do is attach the CO2 hose to my blowoff connection on the kit. When I'm done transferring, I just pull off the hose and i'm done. To make things easy, I installed a check valve that has a Male connectorCheck valve. I have a...

    It's Alive!

I love my BCS, but I accept that it may be a bit tough for some people that don't have a bit of computer know-how under their belt. Not that it's impossible to use, but you do need to program the logic steps and that can get a bit confusing if you are not used to that type of thing. Some of...

Honeywell VR8300A3500 They're nice because you can convert to propane or natural gas with kit that comes with them. I got them from Hotwaterdeals.com for about $60 each. FYI: you'll also need pilot burner Q314A4586 and thermocouple Q390A1061
