    tap water

A simple solution i found at about the same price as a brita but much faster: Buy a prefilter housing~$25 then whichever carbon block fits the bill. You'll also need MPTx hose barb fittings to match whatever size tubing you want. Lastly, an adapter to fit your faucet or hose. Works just like...

    CO2 question

I believe you're right about the 30 psi if you want to force carbonate quickly, though serving is usually closer to 10psi depending on serving tube length. Other people just keep the keg at serving pressure for a week or two before drinking and let the beer carbonate more slowly. it takes...

    floating snot? (gelatin)

No, I boiled just over 2 cups of water, then let it cool. After cooling, I added gelatin and heat slowly until dissolved. then I poured it down a sanitized funnel into the batch. Sound right? Just a note I opened up the carboy for a sniff and i didnt notice any off smells. just beer :)

    floating snot? (gelatin)

Hey everyone, My first brew is just about ready to keg. So a day ago I added a tbsp of gelatin as per the instructions. my question is: shouldnt this stuff sink? I checked on the beer today and noticed snot-looking stuff floating at the top of the carboy. At first i panicked and thought it...

    My new keezer

hey everyone, Just thought I would put up some pics of my new baby! Its pretty basic, just a used frigidaire freezer I got off of CL. I'm using a Ranco temp controller, it holds 3 kegs plus the tank on the hump. At most i think i can fit the 3 kegs, tank, and one carboy. For now i'm using...

    Money Vent

    What's wrong with this idea?

simple hydrolysis "fuel cells" cannot produce enough H2 to be effective or efficient. let alone one made out of a 1L mason jar. my school has made experimental cars using much more advanced/complicated mechanisms, and they work, but still arent practical on a commercial scale. so ya, that jar...

Temp controler for a freezer chest.

Ranco and Love controllers are both good. some people use johnson controllers as well, all are accurate enough for brewing purposes. any of the three can control any freezer or fridge. Installation is pretty simple and usually all that is required is an extension cord cut in half and a maybe...

    1st Lager (problem)
