    Alternative carbing method?

yooperbrew- thats basically what i have in mind at the moment. Even if i only cut a week off the carb time, its worth it to me. I think I'll give it a shot, I just want to see. I realize it wont force carb like normal (if it were cold) but it HAS to be faster under all that pressure than...

    Alternative carbing method?

mmb- thats a good idea, so that i dont get so much yeast in the bottles. I was just hoping there would be a faster way. I cant decide... Just wait out the three weeks and know it will be fine, or hurry up and get it done. i wish i wasnt to so impatient. Although, I could just start another...

    Alternative carbing method?

damn.... i was afraid that might be the consensus. so lets say I used a counter pressure filler (im building one anyways :) ) Would that work? Another possible option would be to use this large cylindrical cooler we have. Its one of the big ones on wheels, and I've seen it hold ice for a...

    Alternative carbing method?

Hey everyone, I doubt this is a first, but in all the threads I've read I haven't seen it. Due to fate's intervention, my kegerator isnt available. My apfelwein is ready so i need to bottle it. but being the impatient person i am, I was wondering if I can just force carb it with my kegging...

    fermentation temp range of apfelwein?

thats good to know. Right now im using just the wet t-shirt deal and its about 72. so looks like im fine. Its convenient that this stuff can ferment so warm, I still wont have the kegerator here for a while. Im really excited to try Apfelwein out. Its my first batch of it and only my second...

    fermentation temp range of apfelwein?

Hey everyone, I tried to search but had no success. Im wondering what the upward range of fermentation is for the Edworts Apfelwein recipe? Its pretty hot here in Socal, and my family isnt fond of running the AC 24/7. average temp is prolly upper 70's downstairs so with a cold towel and fan...

    Critique my aquaculture paper/hypothesis?

Research Question: The main issues that the authors did not deal with are those surrounding real world applications. They mention that the findings may be used towards both conservation biology and commercial exploits, but leave it at that. Though I firmly believe that this research has great...

    Critique my aquaculture paper/hypothesis?

Paper Summary: In recent studies at the Tokyo University of Fisheries, researchers have made some interesting finds. This was done by injecting donor primordial germ cells marked by green florescent proteins into the peritoneal cavity of hatched trout embryos to see whether or not they would...

    Critique my aquaculture paper/hypothesis?

Hey everyone, I am a student at the University of California Davis and finished writing a short paper last night. It was a final for a fish reproduction class, but the assignment was to read an assigned scientific research paper, summarize it, then identify a research/management problem the...

    All foam, out of ideas...

yeah i did, I meant to mention that in the first post but i guess i forgot. I purged the pressure every time i dropped it. Oh and dont worry all this hasnt stopped me from drinking it....just had to fill a couple glasses, let them sit, top off, then combine into one glass and drink. not...

    All foam, out of ideas...

Hey everyone. My first batch just finished carbinating and when I went to try it it was all foam. So i checked the usual stuff, turned the temp down a little and lowered the pressure. Let it sit a while and tried again, still the same. So today I went and bought 10' of beerline because my...

    floating snot? (gelatin)

Racked into the keg a little while ago, smelled fine but holding off on the tasting until its carb'd. I just had to leave a little extra beer in the bottom of the carboy to avoid sucking in any of that weird ***t. haha wish me luck. We'll find out if that was gonaherpasyphilaids or just yeast...

    New guy on the block

officially kegged and getting carb'd! My regulator finally came in, its so pretty and shiny. I had some issues when i pressure tested the keg. it was fine, then i checked the pressure relief valve. one pull; nothing...another pull; worked fine. so i preceded to rack the beer into the chilled...

    floating snot? (gelatin)

ya thats what i was thinking, but while examining it more closely it looks like the yeast was still a tiny bit too active after racking to secondary. I think the stuff is floating because of CO2 bubbles inside of it. almost as if the the yeast is working inside of it. or....its going to be...

    floating snot? (gelatin)
