Using chipotle chilies in an amber ale

I like where you head is at. A good way to experiment and see what you like is to soak one batch of chipotle in vodka and one in tequila while you beer is fermenting. for this batch, Don't add it to your fermented wort at all, just keg or bottle as you would normally. When it is finally ready to...

Smack Pack didn't puncture but pitched anyway—Help!

Yeah, you are all good man. I have had this happen to me as well and I did the same thing. just cut the bag open and poured it is. It fermented with no problem.

    Using Muslin bags for Hops

I have had mixed results with Hops bags. I feel like I don't get very good results with them. I especially have had bad results with dry hopping using them. I'm sure it is probably a surface area issue. That is just my opinion of course. The best thing to do is brew two of the exact same...

    Removing smell/odor fromcooler mashtun.

Fill it up with 170 degree water and PBW. close up the cooler so it stays at a nice warm temp and let it sit for a few hours. it should do the trick.

    I need some help please

If you are looking for apple pie flavor you want to use cinnamon and nutmeg, maybe some vanilla. clove isn't going to hurt it but a little goes a longgggg way. the same is true with nutmeg and vanilla. my best advice is to start of with a little bit of each. maybe 1 cinnamon stick, 1/2 whole...

How Many lbs of Oats for my Wit?

You will be fine with the rice hulls. I use them in almost every brew and I have never had a problem. They will do their job.

    american honey apple wheat help

Looks interesting. I wouldn't go to crazy on the hops so the wheat, honey, and apple really take the forefront and the hops kind of blend in. maybe a small addition of .5 oz at 60 min and another .5 oz at 20 min should do it. That is, of course, if you really don't want a strong hops profile...

    Air pockets in keg line.

Hey guys, I have been having problems with one keg in particular. It seems I'm getting air pockets in the line. one at the post and one at the faucet. the same thing happened with a ginger beer I made that was hooked up to another faucet but was in the same keg which makes me think it is...

    Oh no...What do I do?

HAHA well played^^^ As for you beer you are good to go man. If your beer doesnt come out perfect, take detailed notes on what you did wrong so you don't do them again. I'm sure it will still be drinkable. As for the Dry Hopping, Yes you can dry hop in the primary just wait until the gravity...

anybody else annoyed with the whole IPA craze?

You hit it right on the nose! I personally love the fact that now I can go to my local liquor store and it will take me a half hour to pick something out. I agree that IPA's are the abundance of the selection but I love IPA's, so I can literally try something new almost every time I go. If you...

    Hop Tea in the Keg

Next time you dry hop, don't use a hops bag. I have noticed that every time I use a bag I never achieve the "hopiness" I want. This may do the trick. As far as the hop tea bag idea goes, I'm not sure. It is an interesting experiment though. Keep us posted if you try it.
