    Help with this newbies recipe.

So, thanks for all the help to everyone who posted. My pumpkin is in secondary now to clarify. And I am dry hopping it a bit with the hops from the recipe. I had a question about adding items to the secondary. I have a pumpkin I used as a keg last night that I baked today. I know if I added it...

So, it's just about two weeks. Should I move it to the secondary? Or keep it in the primary? I have heard now of days people tend to keep it in primary for the whole of the fermentation.

Help with a Brewing kettle question?

I appreciate the concern ANC input and in all honesty. That's good info but he is right about it not being good for brewing. I made a batch of beer with this and it bearly kept a boil. controlling the flame was a mess, also the stand is painted black so the first couple a times you run it you...

Help with a Brewing kettle question?

Yeah I know. Just...pisses me off. I looked up a work around for the timer( disabling it) I'm sure it's fine for a lot of people but, I just think its stupid that if I buy a banjo burner and pot separately no timer. But som jack hat made it a law that if you buy it for frying turkeys it needs a...

Help with a Brewing kettle question?

So FYI, I bought that exact turkey fryer after I posted this under the advice of the local brew shop. Don't buy it! That little box on the regulator hose is a ideot box. Every 15 minuets it shuts off unless you press that button. I'm returning it. From what I have found, it's better to just...

    Green Tea IPA

Traditionally, japanes green tea is supposed to be steaper extreamly hot only for 1-4 mins I think? Then removed and the tea served hot immideitly. The green tea we get in the store does have a couple things That differentiat it from japanes green tea. The major thing is Floride. American...

    Help with this newbies recipe.

OK! So being the obsessive creature I am. I built a cooling tub. It's wrapped in two cold towles. And the water temp is outside 20 ish? The fermi meter last read between 68-70 and had seemed to stabilize. Should I lower it still? Or is this good ( not sure if I'm shocking the yeast?) Also it...

    Help with this newbies recipe.

Ok, so the instructions said to pitch the yeast at 78. ( i can't tell if the 78 being blue is better then it being green as it was before i pitched the yeast. Still can't find how to read the fermentometer.) So, should i put the pumpkin ale is a cooler place? it said to put it somewhere warm and...

so my gravity was, and let me know if i'm reading this wrong, 1.044 and my temp, again i am guessing as to the fermentometer, is 78? I'm storing it in a dark room in my basement with a cover over it in a closet and the temperature down their is about 77-79 throughout the day. is this a good idea?
