The SSBT is a bit more $$$ than the Chapman and the Anvil but I also feel it is a better product. $200 includes shipping, and if you are military they offer a discount as well. I like the valve and rotating arm on the SSBT, and the lid is predrilled for a stopper. My only real complaint is...

I want to make a quick observation on the discussion about the price of the setup... It has been said a few time that raw components come to about $1000 +/- So it comes down to paying for labor to build out the kit.... So in my mind it comes down to what is my time worth to me.... Guess how...

FWIW... I know the $200 is a hard pill to swallow, and there are some design elements that I wish were different, but all in all the SSBT bucket seems to be a great piece of gear. I hope to have something fermenting within the week

I had Dave drill the holes just like he would for the Blichman, then install the spincycle It is the fitting to the left of the pickup tube, this is in a 15g Bayou Classic

If I get a 2nd SS Bucket, I might go with Anvil, I will be watching to see what you do about the scratches, could be a one-off situation. I will have to replace that ugly ass valve though.....lol T

How deep of a scratch would you allow in your plastic fermenter? I have the SSBT version, and just unboxed, cleaned, and did an acid soak....so far i really like it. I was going to go with the Anvil, but I can't stand that spigot they put on it.... I would contact Anvil and see what they say

Brew Bucket will be here Wednesday! Have come across another issue. My old kettle was fat and short, new one is tall and thinner...this means my mesh hop basket does not reach the wort at a 5 gallon boil level. I have a whirlpool and side pick up tube, could I go leaf without too much issue
