    How Do I Get Started?

I to started with the Mr. Beer kegs and I do still use them right along side my conical fermentor! I have five of the little buggers and I love them. I save my conical for the larger sized brew and use the Mr. Beer for experiments and brew for the ladies in the group that don't like real beers...

    Flavor and DME?

The differences in base malts may be difficult at to detect at best but think of it this way... If you take a nice steak some will eat it raw and it tatses good, most will throw it out on the grill and cook it - rare, medium rare, Medium, medium well, well done, and burnt to a crisp (don't...

    Fruit peels in secondary?

I'm sure you know this but just in case ... You don't want to use the whole peel of citrus fruit to brew (or cook) you only use the zest ... that is the very thin outter layer with the color. That's where all the citrus oils are. The white part is VERY bitter and will not add a good fruit...

    Yet another bottle bomb post

In case of bottle bombs or leaking caps, spigots etc. I use rubbermaid boxes or trashcans for all brews that aren't kegged or ready for drinking.

    Real fruit or "flavorings"

Last Christmas I did Cherry, Peach, Apricot, Dutch Apple, Blueberry, Raspberry and Strawberry Wheats The raspberries were from Orgeon Fruits, The peach and Apricot was from Delmonte (watch the lable for no preservatives) and rest were frozen. The frozen fruits had a stronger fruit flavor...

    New to the forum.

Hello Jim - I have just recently started All-Grain brewing. It's easier than it sounds trust me! It's alot harder to make a good spagetti sause than to brew beer. You will fine some improvement in the taste and maybe feel of your brews. If you've done a particial mash/steeped grain brews...

    Hey There

It was a 100+ year old barn - looked like drift wood. They used all kinds of fruit from our trees and tomatoes and dandelions. Blueberry Ale Recipe

    Blueberry Ale Recipe

I made a Blueberry wheat using thawed frozen berries it was great! I dumped them in after the boil - cooled to about 180 F and left them in during the ferment. Really nice wine color. 3 lb. bag for 5 gallons Alot cheaper than using Oregon Fruits. :cross:
