Unveiling my brewery & garage build

Damn good job polishing that keg! I just picked up two more kegs, and I want to polish them and my original keg up like that. What grinder pads are you using to get that kind of result?

    Kal Clone

What you're seeing is differences in the thickness of individual boards. that, or the horizontal framing boards that you used aren't level/true. If you have access to a planer, you can plane them all to the same thickness. Or you can just go through piece by piece and exchange any pieces that...

Questions About Converting Propane to Natural Gas

I'm thinking about having a gas line either run to a new wall in my laundry/furnace room, or across the house to the garage. Furnace room would be cheap, as that's the room where the gas line enters the house, but the garage is about 30' away...

    Best SMaSH recipe you've made???

I did a Vienna/Galaxy SMaSH APA that turned out fantastic. Very nice taste and smooth finish.

Questions About Converting Propane to Natural Gas

Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost you to have that pipe run from the meter? You can PM it to me if you don't want to post it here. And was it a buddy doing it on the side, or did you just hire someone to come do it?

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

I have done 4 batches using my Corona Mill. I used a Dewalt corded drill, and I can usually get through about 7 lbs before it starts getting too hot and smoking. I will be picking up a cheap heavy duty low speed drill here soon, hopefully. Anyways, using my full-volume BIAB in a keggle, I got a...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

Check out this drill at harbor freight. I think there are several people on here that use them. There are 2 different drills, one with a D handle and one without. Either should work. http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-half-inch-heavy-duty-spade-handle-drill-93632.html...

Questions About Converting Propane to Natural Gas

It is my understanding that the burners they sell as "low pressure" are the same as the BG-14 burners in the KAB4 Bayou Classic. I purchased a KAB4 last summer, as well as one of the Williams NG orifices. I have not used it yet, but if I remember correctly the orifice did screw into the port on...

Questions About Converting Propane to Natural Gas

I believe the 10" banjo burners are designed to run on natural gas at 11" WC (water column) pressure, but you should double check on that.

The birth of Zeus. (Non typical brewstand build.)

Congrats on the new house! Hopefully it doesn't make the building of this fantastic brewstand a moot point ;). Can't wait to see more progress on this. It looks like an amazing project.

New HUGE Bourbon Cask! Pictures. Help...

Buffalo Trace is a great distillery. My younger brother actually got married there a couple years ago. Was a great place for a wedding and reception. I wasn't a brewer at the time or I would probably have tried to get a barrel from them as well... Good luck!

    Another stand is born

So you just drilled into the underside of the burner? Any issues with gas/air leaking around the screw?

Getting ready to start big fermentation chamber

Between 2' and 3.5" of rigid foam insulation all around. 2" on the sides, back and front, and 3.5" on top and bottom. 2 always hot outlets, 2 controlled heating outlets, 2 controlled cooling outlets. STC-1000 controller off Ebay.

    Chest Freezer Deal

I picked up one of these on sale right before Christmas. It should fit up to 8 ball locks on the floor, if they're snug, plus another 3 on the hump. I currently have 4 kegs and a 20lb CO2 tank in mine, and there is plenty of room for 3 more on the floor.

    SMaSH APA

Been drinking on this Galaxy/Vienna APA since New Years. I dry hopped it in the keg with another 2 oz (I think?) of Galaxy, and it both smells and tastes fantastic. I'm thinking that I'll have to try this galaxy hops in a few more brews!

Getting ready to start big fermentation chamber

IF you're worried about moisture, they sell these rechargeable dehumidifiers on amazon that members here seem to love for their keezers. Do a search and you should find them.

Getting ready to start big fermentation chamber

Yeah, thats the FRP board (I'm pretty sure). HD/Lowes should sell it. Should go on with construction adhesive and seal in the corners with caulk just fine. I haven't had any issues with moisture buildup, even with 4 fermentation's going on at once in my chamber. I've got a small computer fan...

Getting ready to start big fermentation chamber

Yeah, you'll definitely want to cover that with something. You could do a thin plywood cover and seal it well, or you could use the plastic FRP board and caulk the corners. It will add a little cost, but since you got the insulation for freeeeeeeee... ;)
