70-quart Maxcold Ice Cube for MLT?

I kind of figured it would come down to the spigot, etc... so I'm still leaning toward the regular cooler, unless the Ice Cube doesn't present any issues :) anyone else with thoughts?

    200,000 BTU burner for $21

looks like it needs a regulator/adapter and hose. The other thing that caught my eye was the baffle. Looks like the flame would be ultra concentrated. Wonder how well that baffle works.

Dilemna: Buy another carboy? Buy another pale? Both?

Why not get a bottling bucket and another carboy (Better Bottle)? Is there any reason why you want to replace your pail as the primary fermentor? Hang onto that, use it as a primary, rack to one carboy, then clean the pail and start a new batch or pitch on top of the cake on the pail if you...

    No Boil Kits

Why not just order an extract kit from somewhere like AHBS or your LHBS and make that? It's going to be a better beer, give you a little more experience with brewing and considering the price of good beer, you'll get a little more than 2 cases of good beer for a little more than $30.

    cheap mp3s

In all seriousness, if you like free mp3s, go to your local library, check out CDs you want, bring them home, rip them to your PC and then put them on your mp3 player. Can't get any cheaper than free. :)

Who's brewing this weekend (Feb. 16-18)?

Yes! Hit the OG spot on at 1.070! Looks fantastic and we're all done but some of the remaining cleanup. Chili (which included a bottle Capital's Munich Dark) is in the crock pot waiting to be consumed and we're watching the end of the Daytona 500. Next weekend, hopefully, we'll put...

    What are you drinking now?

And our porter is going to be better than the stout. I'm kind of disappointed in Mickey Finn's stout. I thought it would be better. Any of the other Lake County IL brewers disappointed with Mickey Finn's lately?

    Sanyo 4912 Kegerator Conversion

Hey whodwho... we've got the same Danby in our kitchen right now. Are you using a picnic tap? If not, how are you running your lines to the taps? I got ours for about $60 at Target a few weeks ago.

    The names of your kids

Oldest : Jacob Reiley - Jacob, a favorite name and keeps in line with the practice in my family of using J names. Reiley just because it's cool and different. He's six. Almost 2 year old twins : Samuel John - Sam, a name we liked, ex-wife's name began with an S, and John for my father. And...

My first IPA recipe... with help from some friends. Thoughts?

Well, I guess I was looking for a way to tweak the usual IIPAs. After all, this is a brew I'm going to put on top of a yeast cake from a porter :D I might still tweak it a bit. :)
