I too am partial to my LHBS but the only one within 50 miles of me is only open on Fridays from around 11AM to 6PM and some days it is kinda hard to get there before or after work. Drop a few of the moisture bags from Lowes (or equivalent) into the freezer to keep the mold forming condensation at bay. Worked for me.

Not sure what you mean by a "valve"? Do you mean the rubber stopper or something entirely different? If your stopper blew out, just sanitize it and push it back in. Again, not sure the first post stated how long it has been off.... Nothing to worry about if it has been less then a day as the CO2...
