100 year old hop plant recipe?

Well it's in the fermenter, I ended up making a ten gallon batch using 16 lbs two row, 2 lbs crystal 20, and 2 lbs of amber mashed at 152. I used a 1/2 oz of simcoe at 60 min and then 1 oz of the old plant hops at 30,15,5,and flame out and pitched S05. So we'll see what it turns out like in a...

100 year old hop plant recipe?

Thanks for the cluster hop idea, I had a chance to do a little reading on hops from that era and had no idea that according to what I read that like 90+% of hops in those days were clusters.

100 year old hop plant recipe?

Thanks for the bittering hop ideas, I like the idea of using something as neutral as possible. Hopefully I can get this rolling in a week or so and will keep you posted as I go along.

100 year old hop plant recipe?

My Dad was talking with a rancher friend of his and was telling him I brew beer, so he said there is a home stead on his place with hop plants that are 100 plus years old and he was told that the folks that lived there long ago had used them for brewing and thought it would be neat if I could...

New digital solid state power relay for boil regulation

One other quick question, the manual says to connect terminal 9&10 of the DSPR1 to AC power so would it be best to land my incoming power on term strips then connect to the DSPR1 terminals from one leg of the 240 or connect one terminal to one leg and the other terminal to the other leg. Thanks...

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this device for a boil kettle. I just got one in the mail today along with their 40 amp SSR and heat sink. I'm having a 240v 30 amp gfci outlet wired into my basement next week and plan on building a box with a dryer cord to that outlet and an dryer outlet...

How much $$/lb. is a good price for grain??

My LHBS sells pale 2 row for 1.05 per lb and 10% less if you buy more than ten lbs and 30% off if you buy a 50 lb sack I think it is like 36 or 37 bucks which seems pretty fair to me. Hope that helps.:mug:

Why is the bottom of the keg the best?

Why is the beer at the bottom of the keg the best? It is clearer and smoother to me is there a reason or is it just me. Enjoying one from near the bottom now and just curious.
