    Explosion!

Personally I do it to give more oxygen to yeast, easier cleanup, clarity (if you let it age this is not really a concern), and I don't like to leave hops in my primary in case it is too active and clogs my airlock. I haven't noticed any positive or negatives in terms of taste either way.

    Explosion!

I honestly don't think there is really think there is a bad way to do it. Just find what works for you and have fun :)

    Explosion!

I strain after I cool the wort as I am putting it into my primary. I don't see why you wouldn't do this, most do. Don't strain later after fermentation has started. This will oxidize your beer. Prior to fermentation and after cooling you want to shake it up as much as possible to get oxygen in...

    Forgot to Boil Priming Sugar

In this case i would just go buy the carbonation tablets and put one in each bottle. Way easier than trying to put sugar in each bottle (more sanitary too). *edit* Misread post. I thought you bottled and forgot to add the sugar. That is what i get for reading the posts on my phone.should be...

    Floaties ?

I don't think i have ever brewed a batch with something small going wrong (or unexpected) and i have been brewing for a few years now. That is whats fun :)

    Floaties ?

That sounds good. I just like the siphon just because the spigot is so close to the trub. But this is really just preference. If you do decide to siphon into bottles grab a bottling wand. Makes things super easy. Also helps with getting head space right in each bottle, because the displacement...

How Should I Prepare New Bottles For First Brew?

Dishwasher isn't for water and thus doesn't matter if any water makes it in the neck. Purely about heat. Modern dishwashers will get the glass so hot you can't even touch it. So as long as your bottles are clean they can be sanitized in the dishwasher.

Re-pitch. Over a year is far too long. I wont use after a month or two. After two weeks i always do a starter.

How Should I Prepare New Bottles For First Brew?

Two others ways to sanitize are to send them through a dishwasher (only if you have a super hot sanitizing dishwasher). I have also heard of people baking them in the oven to sanitize. I just use a commercial cleaner like you already said.

    Know when fermentation is done

Thanks. I was hoping that would be what it was. I had heard infections can cause weird problems with the gravity reading and later the carbonations levels.

Also make sure to really strain your brews. Especially if you have really fine hop particles in it. This is what usually gums up the airlocks. Blow-off tubes are better.

    Floaties ?

This happens quite often when bottling using the valve at the bottom of a bottling bucket (or Mr beer kit). It is just sediment (yeast and hops). You should do a second fermentation next time and also bottle via siphoning. Just be sure to leave the bottom sludge untouched when siphoning. Hope...

    Know when fermentation is done

So I am brewing an IPA, but am having trouble figuring out if it is done fermenting. Still receiving bubbles in the airlock every 10 seconds or so, but my FG reading is at 1.015 which is below what I estimated. Has anyone had this happen? I don't want any bottle bombs, but I was hoping to bottle...
