    Greetings From Iowa

Iowa is a state to be reckoned with....er something.

    Recommend "New" Bands

Along the same lines as The Avett Brothers (folk/punkish/bluegrass), I have to recommend Langhorne Slim. Awesome stuff....I'm a big fan of his self-titled album

Awesome! I'm a big Rocket From the Crypt and Drive Like Jehu fan, so I'll definitely check these guys out.

The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America is an awesome rock album. Pela Tokyo Police Club

bump... Any other suggestions out there? I'm thinking about rejoining emusic.com, but I'm not sure what I should pick up.

    My favorite beer glass

Awesome...I'm less than 30 minutes from Dirty John's. They have so many glasses that they have to store them in a house across the street. Awesome place for random beers. Here's my latest beer glass acquisition:

    Opening a Brewpub

This is a quality thread with some really good advice/suggestions. I believe just about every homebrewer has had the dream or desire to get paid for their hobby, so we all wish you the best of luck. Here are a couple suggestions: 1. Set up your business as either an S-corporation or an LLC...

What commercial beers are in your 'fridge?

I was just in Irvine 3 weeks ago and saw TJ's Vintage Ale, but decided not to get it. Is it any good?

    Best Non-Home Brewed Beer

**** yes! My friends and I are huge GCA fans....too bad it's hard to find here in Iowa.

    How did you find us?

Tx brought me in as a consultant to add knowledge and stuff to the boards. I think it was a wise investment on his part.

    My favorite beer glass

It's not my "go to" glass by any means, but it's definitely unique (and over-priced). It's supposed to be the best beer glass ever, but I find it a bit top-heavy and small. (that's what she said)

FM takes random kittens from the security of their mom's teat and punches them in their dumb faces. I have all their stuff and am greatly anticipating their new release "Float" coming out soon. (this week maybe?)

    uh-oh, here's trouble...

Red has been my first return on my membership investment. Cheeers to Red!

****ing A is one of my favorites...what's your take on the new one? A lot of Thermals fans think it's too "radio friendly" but I honestly haven't had a chance to listen to much of it (besides pillar of salt, of course).

Excellent call, hopleaf. Also, you can never go wrong with some old Billy Bragg or The Clash. Def. not new bands, but they both make great stuff. For "new" bands, I've been listening to a lot of The National, The Avett Brothers (blue-grassy Indie rock), and Andrew Bird.

Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs.

I'm going to keg my first batch of homebrew this week, so hopefully my repitching of the yeast won't add too many ill-effects. Oh well....my hopes are set pretty low since it's my first batch. However, I did just order another recipe kit - a sweet stout extract kit from Austin Homebrewing -...

    Best Non-Home Brewed Beer

Ha! I'm drinking fruity pebbles...I mean sunset wheat right now...it's definitely a beer that I will keep on tap throughout the year (once my kegerator is done!). It's also a great beer to smuggle onto golf courses during the hot summer months.

    Best Non-Home Brewed Beer

I've tried a lot of Sleeman brews, but I can't say I've ever seen the Special Edition IPA. Any idea what makes it special?
