    Nitro System Score

Just got a stout faucet, U type coupler and Nitrogen regulator at no cost. I'm picking up a shank today and drilling a 3rd hole in my kegerator for a Guinness setup. A dream come true, hahahaha. New 10" drip tray and a separate hose going in for beergas as well. Hopefully I'll have this done...

    Dead Ringer IPA Full Boil

I used blue painters tape to tape my wireless BBQ probe to the side of the carboy today. Temp was 59F. Water temp was 56, air temp was 59, I thought that was a bit low. I ran the reservoir heater on a timer for 2 hours and the water and carboy came up to 62F, Accordingly fermentation has...

Extract Shakedown for 3-tier all grain system

CJ, I just re-read your posts. The heater is a submersible in the water. The air temp is 60F with no other heat in that unfinished area. At what air temp would you suggest turning the heater in the water back on?

Extract Shakedown for 3-tier all grain system

Thank you for the help. I'm planning on getting a chest freezer with a controller for my basement to do what you're doing. I saw a Magic Chef 6.8 cu ft at HD today for $158. There is only 6" of water in the tote. It's also big enough to add a second carboy if I choose to brew another batch soon...

Extract Shakedown for 3-tier all grain system

I did a full boil extract brew today with Northern Brewer Dead Ringer IPA (w/ grains). I wanted to give the Dark Star burner and my new 3-tier a test run before using my LMT and HLT for an all grain brew. I like it and learned a little about how to tweak it. Added LME at 45 minutes. The recipe...

    Dead Ringer IPA Full Boil

Did a full boil on this today. It went well hit OG of 1.065. Added LME at 45 min. 60 min hops were adjusted to 0.6 oz and I then followed the all grain hop additions. Used 2 packs of Safale US-05 which were rehydrated. The 6.5 Gal carboy is in a plastic tote (big enough for 2)that has water and...

Going rate for 5 gallon kegs

Be aware that you should not just grab any old Corny off Craig's list. I've seen them around for $20. They are commonly used by exterminators to hold pesticides. Something I don't want in my beer.

    March 809 Pump box

    March 809 Pump box

As anyone who has a pump knows, the March 809 pumps are not intended to get fluids on them. I found a few examples online and found a rather inexpensive solution from the big orange store. Materials: (in addition to pump) 1 Husky plastic toolbox $5.97 4 machine screws $0.40 1...

Help making AG Baxters Stowaway IPA

From the brewer's description: "Bold, complex flavors with a solid malt backbone and assertive hop profile, along with cold conditioning give this beer its crisp, clean finish. •5 different premium malts including 1 from Aroostook County, Maine •6 different hops, 2 from a small...

    New 3 tier Wire shelving

I'll inquire about that. Perhaps I can just run Silicone only, you make a good point. It also give me the option to heat my HLT over 183F if needed to bring a mash temp up.

    New 3 tier Wire shelving

Mounting the pump in a plastic work box on the bottom shelf. There it will be below the kettle fluid level and not need to be primed. I plan to use cam lock quick disconnects with high temp Silicone hose from the kettle to the pump. Pump outlet will be vinyl with SS braid washer hose. It's NSF...
