    Not running it dry, as pumps go magnetic pumps should be able to run dry all day ! its right at the end of pumping or sparging ! Just wondering if i got a bad one ! I have a inline valve for resistence sparging !

    MY brand new march pump squealing like a pig, unless there is water "load" on it. figured out that the wobble on the shaft making the noise, thought maybe it was the end play, Really annoying ! Its the bronze housing one so called top of the line unit ! Thinking about returning it. Anyone else...

    AIB is a great place to buy legal 15.5 gallon keggles, I bought 3 and glad I did, worth every penny ! I brew 5 gal AG and there false bottom rocks !:rockin:

Just crank you o2 up to 30 lbs and leave some head space in your cornie keg, I leave about 4" then swish back and forth for a few minutes and it carbonates right away, just open the pop off a couple times to bleed off any oxygen.     For now it's a start, but I can add more later and I am sure I will. Starting out with 2 corneys and a bev air is a good start I think. Been brewing for 2 months so in a year I will have many I am sure. :mug:

    doubt there are wires, normally the cooling grid is visible from the inside. But i would start with a very small drill bit and work up to the size you need. Really just a insulated box with the cooler rad in the rear on most units. Just locate the thermocoupler wire before you drill so you know...

    Oh ok thanks for explaining, makes sense, more of a overheating issue then. Going to stir my next brew, last time I didn't and hit my numbers ok, but will give it a try.

    I am also a newbie, but I have been playing fermentation temps on a basic pal ale and at 60-65f it's a little more bitter, at 70-80f it's considerably sweet in comparison. But it seems anything below 73f down to 60f is about the same flavor wise. But to get complete fermentation and a flavor...
