    It's called homebrew not freebrew!

I got a text from a family member who's been wanting some of my beer. It said something along the lines of, "so, if I brought you 12 pack of empty bottles. Would I get them back full of home brew?" He's been wanting to buy it (can't), have me deliver it (without offering any tacos), and now...

Has anyone read "Brewing Better Beer: Master Lessons for Advanced Homebrewers"?

I read it. I am new to brewing, so it covered things I've never done. His insight into brew competitions is great. I also liked how he explained different methods of the same process, such as lautering, and explains when he found one to be appropriate to use over another. His tone is colder...

    Your Dream Brew Pub

Fast service by hot waitresses. The good beer doesn't cost too much. Music isn't too loud where ya can't talk to folks. No cover bands... Ever. Comfortable place to sit and drink. Within walking distance. No TVs.

Chicago - Best brewpubs to see

I suggest kuma's corner. It's a heavy metal burger and shot place that's crowded and loud. Not a brew pub pizza or hotdog place. But everyone already mentioned the places to go for that. And kuma's burgers are awesome! Hotdogs: Any Portillos will work for that. But, While in town get an...

Seems some people are very "intense" about their brewing practices

People are passionate about these things. Chalk it up as a result of people enjoying what they do. I've seen such passion in motorcycling, welding, wood working, circuits, software, lion taming, and streaking. Oddly enough never in tax time accounting. But that's irrelevant. I say start an...

    Welding

I have the Hobart Handler 140. It's a brilliant machine. Made in the US. It's essentially a Miller so it uses Miller parts. Shielding gas is so much cleaner than flux core. But... I bought it cause I want to weld all kinds of stuff. Remember any 110v machine will only be good for materials...

how come selling/buying is not allowed?

Buy cheap beer and cook the alcohol out. Probably better way to experiment with creating NA beer.

    What to do

Have them help you brew next batch. They may learn that the beer isn't free or start making their own.

    Money for a brew system

Brewing is cool but ya can't sell the Jazz. That just doesn't seem right.

    Show Us Your Label

I wanted mine to look generic but I had a hard time limiting myself so it got a little random.

    Hooray for Beer!!!

Thanks for the welcome! Seems like a cool group!!! -All my hobbies are expensive. Motorcycles, music, electronics, workshop stuff. So far this has been cheap. So far. However I have everything to build a brewing rig. (sculpture?) so I came prepared. Relatively. -I'm not German but my dad is...

    Hooray for Beer!!!

I always told myself I wouldn't brew. But I was growing hops this year because seeing them grow on my Aunt's house in Germany made me think I should grow them too. And I still said I wouldn't brew. But everyone would ask.... Some assumed... others even demanded. So I bought a kit. I...
