I setup my kegs(two) last night and I have this fear that my damn cats will jump up there, rub on the handles and the entire keg will drain out on my floor. :( My dog loves beer so he'll probably drink as much as he can before he passes out but it would suck. Anyone have something like this...

My guess with my last brew was fermentation stopped so if I took a reading when I thought it was done I could have tried to restart it?

Is it easier to take the measurement at what ever temperature it is and adjust or try to cool/warm it up and then take it? I think I just need to write down a cheat-sheet, for example: If it's 2 notches from the top it's .... If it's 4 notches from the top it's .... The whole decimal thing is...

We want a simple setup that someone can type a code(easy) and it turns on and off a valve for x seconds. We have everything except the valve, does anyone know of a valve that would allow us to apply current and turn it on or off.

I can't complain a friend gave it to me for free but I have it in my kitchen and when it's on it's kind of loud. Is there anything I can look at to make it quieter?

Yeah, I would rather not worry about changing ice out..set it and forget it. :-) I don't mind spending $300-$350 to get this up and running especially if I can keep two beers going at all times. I guess I'll just some cardboard circles and go test out some freezers.

I don't mind doing a collar, I just want to get the most space for the least amount of money! :-)

I've decided that needs to be the next purchase. I can have fancy pots, fancy fermentation vessels but if I can't keep the temperature consistant none of it will matter. I was looking online but it's hard to tell, has anyone had good luck with ones that I can pickup at sears/lowers/home depot...

Ah, I like that idea to just do plugs instead of hard wires. What do you use for a heater? How did you guys calibrate it so you know the liquid temp is correct since I'm guessing the sensors are measuring the air? What temp sensors work best with the TSS2-2100?
