    california common preference

Probably a very dangerous thing to say, but after I started brewing I've found I'd rather drink a california common than an ordinary lager. Anyone else had that kind of taste shift or an idea why it could be the case? I'm thinking it's the slight fruity taste

I know that feeling. One of my friends in town has 12 types of fruit trees in his yard and he doesn't ever pick any of them. We harvest them for him.

    Best mill after 2+ years?

After two years I'm still using my corona mill and couldn't be happier. Best part it also grinds my coffee. I use a biab bag in mash tun, so it's not an issue if grain is very fine.

What is your typical mash efficiency?

My brewhouse efficiency is usually between 75 and 79% with batch sparging in mash tun with biab filter rather than manifold

    Alba Scots Pine Ale

Black Spruce yes, the pine I got from a logger. Not sure which type he got it from... I think it's worth brewing pine and spruce beer. Will try juniper when I get berries.

    Alba Scots Pine Ale

I did. I liked it alot! Not quite a perfect clone, but a very nice beer. Was planning the light scottish, but screwed up calculations and afyer mash realised it would either be 80 or nothing. Worked out great!

    Alba Scots Pine Ale

Hi, Does anyone have an idea how to clone this beer with all-grain? I'm thinking a basic light scottish ale, with spruce tips added @15min and minimum hops? Or would doing it as a gruit be closer to the origional?

    Easy Kegs and Mini Kegs

Thanks for the review, I have been thinking of getting a set for a while now. Do you think the issue is that the original material is hazardous that after the plastic lining disintergates it's dangerous or is it a rust issue?
