American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

It is possible that the Beernut does carry the yeast, as I've found their website to be unreliable at best. I'll go in and check it out tomorrow. If not, I don't plan on brewing until later on this weekend. Any recommendations on a shop to order the yeast from?

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

What would be the best substitute yeast for this recipe? My LHBS doesn't carry the dry nottinghams. They have a whole bunch of liquid wyeast and white labs, and then these dry: http://www.beernut.com/Web_store/web_store.cgi?page=dryyeast.html&cart_id=8088633_3616

    Bottleing question

I've used them in the past, with mixed results. Some carbonated, some did not. Not sure if the one's I used were the same as the SN one's though. I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in.

    Doh.....can't find bottle capper

I was under the impression that iodophor was better not rinsed or dried? From what I've read...or my understanding of what I've read....is that it is best to take bottles straight from this sanitizer and bottle. Not so??

    Doh.....can't find bottle capper

OK, so all of my bottles and equipment is in a soak of Iodophor, and it seems that I have lost my bottle capper in the move to Utah. What's my best option? Let them sit in there until tomorrow? Take everything out, seal it in a sanitized Tote? Resanitize tomorrow....which I really don't want to...

    Score!!!

My local HBS, Beer Nut, told me about a shop close by that will cut and clean a keg for $25. To me, that sounds like a deal to not have to worry about it. Something to think about.....if you're not very handy like myself

Welcome to the forums! Where in AK are you? I grew up in Eagle River, and spent a lot of time working in Southeast.

Gott Cooler Mash Tun as Bottling Bucket?

Yeah, I guess buying a $15 bottling bucket would probably be a better option. Much easier to sanitize. I'll probably use it today for my Smoked Porter that is ready to bottle, but after a bucket it is! How about the lack of a wort chiller? Going to be a major issue? Can I still use my Bathtub...

Gott Cooler Mash Tun as Bottling Bucket?

OK, well finally got my 10 Gallon Gott Cooler Mash Tun made! Woohoo! I'm really excited about my first all grain this weekend. One question, anyone see a problem with me using this as my bottling bucket as well? Would work well with the ball lock valve, but would the stainless brade filter any...

    Check this Keg out....looks odd??

I am currently wanting a Keggle, and saw this one on the local ads. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=2057151&cat=&lpid= It looks sort of odd shaped compared to others I've seen turned into Keggles. Any suggestions??

Long Time Lurker from Salt Lake City

I have mostly brewed with kits, yes. I just did a Smoked Porter from the Beer Nut. From what I can tell, it's just now bottle conditioning, it tastes great! I just moved here a few months ago from Seattle area, and man what a difference. Luckily, I live less than five minutes from the Brew Nut...

Long Time Lurker from Salt Lake City

Hey everyone, I've been lurking on here for years. The past month or so I've been really intently reading posts and sucking as much knowledge from the boards as possible. I decided today that it has been so indespensable to me that I might as well post for the first time, as well as become a...
