    New acronym?

Join Date Oct 2008 > Dec 2010 - not quite sure what you mean? I didn't even single you out. Your 2000+ posts mean nothing to me if all of them fall under the level of quality as demonstrated in this thread. I get it's fun to joke around and have fun, i love jokes in fact I laughed at more...

    New acronym?

***warning*** it's been a really bad week and it's only tuesday. <- moody The OP asked a simple question and everyone on here wants to be a comedian and provide a bunch of worthless crap, maybe you could answer the question and then provide your alternate take on the meaning for $h!ts and...

    Blowoff hose

I use mine until primary fermentation slows down, usually about 3-5 days. It doesn't hurt though if you just leave it in for the entire conditioning process either, it just takes up more space.

    Need opinion ASAP! :/

There is most likely enough yeast still in suspension that if left alone will keep working at lowering the gravity. Just leave it be for a couple weeks and you should see your gravity drop. You're at the bottom range of that yeast temperature wise so it will take longer for the yeast to do...

No worries it's just been a rough day at work, so I logged on here to take my mind off for a while and saw that, just took it too personally. Cheers :mug:

    Fermenting in buckets sucks!

I guess I must be, but it doesn't put you to far behind me when making comments like that. How much value does it really add to this thread. To those that thought I was knocking buckets you misunderstood my post, I was just stating that from a visual aspect it's not as fun. I'm not...

Am I just really bad at math?

I wouldn't say your math is bad, it looks ok to me. Was your beer fully carbonated when tasted, perceived bitterness can increase with carbonation. As for hop aroma, alot of that is carried out by the c02 gasses during fermentation, you should try dry hopping if you want more aroma in the...

    Fermenting in buckets sucks!

OK, well maybe there's nothing wrong with it but I've definitely been spoiled using carboys and better bottles. I like seeing my yeast swimming around happily in my wort and all I can do now is watch big starsan bubbles forming in my blowoff bucket :( I guess I should just be happy my...

    March pump 809 priming success

Just wrapped up my second straight brew day without a single issue priming my march pumps. I have 2 pumps on my single tier system that I usually have to break my prime about 8 times throughtout the brewday including cleaning. I might have been lucky but I really think i've found something...

    Stir plate question

Some stainless steel's magnetic properties are altered but still give a little pull to strong rare earth magnets. Only really way to know is to test the steel you have with the magents you'll use. There are plenty of boxes you can you use, i've seen so many on this forum from old routers to...

    Help with yeast starter

If the worts been boiled once already and cared for in a sanitary matter you shouldn't have to reboil but doing so for good measure wouldn't hurt either. The gravity of the wort shouldn't be to high, i try to use nothing over 45 pts Mrmalty.com has an excellent pitching calculator that will...

    Erlynmeyer flask fail

I might be lucky but I have done many a starters with 2000ml flask, and I typically go from right from flame to ice bath minus the amount of time it takes me to get a hotglove and piece of foil to cover the top with. No problems for me "knocking on wood".

Beers you should be able to brew

When I first started brewing I was more open minded to what brews other people would enjoy, now I just brew to my tastes and if others want to hang around and enjoy one of my homebrews then great otherwise more for me! :rockin: I also love brewing beers that I cannot get in my area, for...

Not sure if that's a typo or not but anything above 3 is no longer considered acidic enough to be a proper sanitizer.
