    Lid for keggle

My lid is the top cover from an old summit 14" air cleaner assembly! Works great and there was a hole in the center for mounting a handle.

    Ball bearing wort chillers

Most of you seem to be missing the point here. The real question is the size of the balls. If you have really big balls it might just work. But no matter the size, jiggling them is sure to help.

New Perlick Model 525PC at Kegconnection?

I ordered a 2 tap kit from kegconnection over the weekend, did the 525PC upgrade at $8 a tap. This is my first experience with kegging and kegconnection both. I will report back on the quality and fit/finish on the taps when they arrive. Anyone know what kind of turn around time kegconnection...

    Documentary on Texas Microbreweries

In the list of San Antonio breweries should be blue star brewing and ranger creek brewing and distilling. all three actively support the home brewing community. In fact, ranger creek has been hosting brewing lessons in conjunction with the Bexar brewers for the last few months.

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

Any relay used between controller and load is termed an interposing relay. Its the application, not the device. I have the advantage of working in the controls industry and can simply walk out to the shop and snag what I need. I will do a bit of research and report back on what I find for a...

Talk to me about annealing copper to re-bend 3/8 in. chiller

I think the odds of this working out the way you want it to are pretty slim. My suggestion would be to cut and solder the two coils back together using a coupler. You will also need to cut the riser off one of the coils and re attach it facing the correct direction, you may also need to extend...

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

A fuse will protect the overall circuit, if the contact rating of the controller is greater than the load you are switching by at least 20% you are pretty safe. However no industrial control is wired in this fashion. In practice an interposing relay is always used to protect the controller in...

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

And don't forget, you could use an interposing relay with a higher contact rating if this one has the features you want. In fact an interposing relay is always a good idea in a control circuit, it will protect your controller if something goes wrong with your freezer or wiring. Then you just...

    My new fermentation chamber

The compressor runs very smooth with no noticeable vibration, so no issues there. I just can't see the temperature in this freezer changing rapidly enough cause fast cycling because it is sitting in my spare room not out in the heat. My observations so far also show that this thermostat reacts...

    My new fermentation chamber

Ok folks, just wanted to post up about my new fermentation chamber. I picked up a decent GE 8ish cubic foot chest freezer a few weeks ago from CL for the whopping sum of $20, my first thought was keezer. I wanted to brew this weekend and I wanted some control of fermentation temperatures however...

Weak flame when both burners lit - bg14

Unfortunately my main experience is with high pressure burners and in particular forge burners for black smith work. the over size orifices should help get that burner working with the lower pressure..... I would look at you regulator(s) for volume ratings before replacing burners. I have a...

Weak flame when both burners lit - bg14

Bobby_M is correct, that is a high pressure burner, so the low pressure is probably the biggest problem. Volume as i stated above will only help keep the same flame with both burners running, if one is already too low you need higher pressure..... Which won't work with the rest of your setup...

Weak flame when both burners lit - bg14

What you need to look at is gas volume. Regulators generally have a BTU rating which will make it easy to judge if you are getting enough gas volume for your burners. The regulator must have a BTU rating equal to all of the burners that will be running simultaneously down steam.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

ttokar, I did the same this weekend! First batch of all grain in that hot south Texas sun! Went well except for a chiller failure that turned it in to a no chill batch. Just hosed the outside of the keggle for a while and straight in to the ale pail. Pitched US-05 Monday afternoon and its...
