A couple of updates: I broke the POS plastic lid handle, and am replacing it with a nicer stainless one from Lowes. While I'm at it, I'm replacing all the pellet foam with Great Stuff. As soon as that cures, the new handle will go on. After that, I'll be able to reattach the lid liner with new...

We're just now getting around to brewing this. Had a mishap with a few pounds of MO (may it rest in peace), but was able to squeeze out an OG of 1.054. We also ended up using 1318 instead of the WLP, so I'm looking forward to the result in about 6 weeks. BTW, did you know we're getting an LHBS...

Like everyone else the thing is practically indestructible. Didn't know what we were missing until I used my MIL's. I highly recommend the investment for anyone who likes or wants to cook.

I've started to see a few regionals and micros at the local Sheetz of all places. On the cheap too :) Was going to be an ass and hop on the East Coast train...until I realized some of my favorites are from California. Damned bi-coastal rivalry!

Is there a formula for adjusting bitterness for full boils? I do have beersmith, but was hoping for something I can do in the kitchen on the fly, if necessary.

I'm an idiot. When I sanded some of the rust spots, they turned black - does this mean they'd already been treated and the surface rust returned? I'm going to scrub off the naval jelly today once the garage heats up. Hopefully it'll be warm enough to prime the so I can work on the interior rust...
