    What does your LHBS charge?

I have been involved in the model train hobby for 25 years. Same story over there: all the local hobby shops are ripped for being overpriced gougers. Then when a guy needs a $2 part and there is no local store he cries about that. Does your Internet source pay local taxes or support little...

What's the best part of going All Grain?

I am still doing extracts but building up my equipment for AG. I really enjoyed all the comments about personal satisfaction...I work in an old school hobby shop (trains, models, slot cars) and all the customers talk about satisfaction and stress relief as the reasons they build things. great...

    first brew pot recommendations

I am a novice having brewed a grand total of two batches so far. First time I used a cheap stock pot that was barely large enough. For my second brew day I bought a ten gallon Blichmann. You get what you pay for! The blick allows me to move into all grain when I am ready. if I lose interest the...

What I did for beer today

Brewed a citra sessions ale and put IPA in the secondary. I got a Blichmann kettle yesterday; much nicer than my turkey fryer stock pot. Will be able to use the Blichmann down the road for AG.

No boil over or other obvious catastrphies for the first time. Onward to fermentation and dry hopping. Thanks HBT posters foam al the tips.

    Hello from central PA

I'm setting up the garage for my first brew on Sunday. Doing a full boil extract IPA. I have had the good fortune to be introduced to all grain brewing by a friend. Thanks to all who post here this is a great resource and often entertaining.
