    Newbie help on Scottish ALE

I don't remember the yeast, it was the packet that was included with the kit. As for the F.G. it was 1.010. Im letting them condition some more.....about to pitch the yeast on a nice blonde ale!

    Newbie help on Scottish ALE

Mine has some grains, and some Liquid Malt Extract, AND some Dried Malt Extract. It is the scottish ale kit by brewers best that you can read about here at their site.

    Newbie help on Scottish ALE

I followed the instructions in the brewers best kit, however I took some advice found here and left it in the primary fermenter longer, and I am bottle conditioning for 3 weeks. That being said, anticipation took hold of me, and I decided to sample a bottle after 2.5 weeks. Seems to have...

    Can't wait!

Thanks for all the info. I did take an OG reading, and I REALLY don't want to open the fermenter and risk infection, so I was not planning on taking another SG reading until I was almost certain the fermentation was done. Guess I will check it again after 2 weeks in the fermenter. How long...

    Hello! Another from VA here.

I have heard of the Brewers Guild, and I think there is a meeting/brew get together maybe the 1st saturday in november. Ill have to check. The railhouse brewery seems to be doing well. I like track 1, but I havent sampled track 2 yet.

    Can't wait!

Three weeks? The kit said 4-6 days, but reading on the forums here, that does seem a bit short. Should I just leave the lid closed and not check the SG until after 2-3 weeks? The thread title says "cant wait" but I would rather wait and have great beer, than NOT wait and have gushers.

    Can't wait!

Hello everyone. I'm brand new to brewing, and to this group, but I have some scottish ale in the fermenter in the closet. It is my first brew, and the fermentation seemed very vigorous and rapid. It started after about 5 hours, and all through the night and the next day bubbles were rolling...

    Hello! Another from VA here.

I have been lurking on the site for a while, thinking about getting a beer brewing kit, and luckily, my wife decided to get me one for my birthday.... AND she gave it to me early so that I would (hopefully) have beer to drink by then! :D What a great gal! :rockin: Anyway....Here I...
