What book is on your nightstand? Readers!

I hadn't seen that one yet? Downloaded two PDF books from Jim chapman, " Practical Guide To airgun Hunting", & the second addition of same with even more info. This guy practically wrote the book on the sport. Lots of good information on everything you need, etc.

Windows 10 - Finally some sanity

Yeah, seems too...automated to me. I'm starting to hate telling it I want it done this way, not your way.:confused:

Gardening Frustrations__ The season of the Varmint

Or, perhaps, someone they don't like? At any rate, here's me, my new tee & new Winchester 1400CS in .177 caliber. A 9lb gun, but feels steady & with a 3-9X32 duplex scope. $213 out the door for pick up from Walmart.com.

    safale us-05 rehydrating question

I rehydrated that yeast in about 400ml of spring water in my flask. Get the water to 80-90F, then sprinkle in the yeast. Let sit 15 minutes, then stir with a sanitized skewer or the like. Let sit at least another 15 minutes while sanitizing fermenter, etc. Stir up the resulting cream & pitch...

What I did for beer today

Seeing as how it's day 11, just leaving it bee till it finishes & drops clear or slightly misty should turn out virtuous. Tinkered with fine tuning the scope set up on my new Winchester magnum air rifle. Mumme still conditioning...

    Old beer kit

Yup. Just like hunting, patience is a virtue...though not always rewarded. But most likely will be, which always seems to draw us in...:mug:

Kottbusser - A style deserving of revival!

Only too glad to share something from my ancestral homeland! I used Unsulphured, golden molasses in that recipe, John. I know it looks dark in the bottle, but it is lighter in color & flavor when added to the beer in secondary. I wondered at that point, if that background flavor might have been...

What came in the mail for you today?

Yesterday was rather eventful! My tee shirt & drugs came in-old guy pills, & I picked up my Winchester 1400CS magnum air rifle. Dang air rifles are getting pretty serious these days, at 1400FPS muzzle velocity. Darn thing weighs, @ 9lbs, only 1/2 pound less than my '58 British Enfield! Steadies...

Another nearly extinct beer worthy of note

I'll definitely keep y'all posted on this one. I'm understandably curious myself as to how the final product will be? Gotta get going on version 4.2 of my hybrid lager next. Trying for that 1950-1965 flavor profile...

    What are you drinking now?

I miss getting a good nut brown around here. Guess I'll have to brew one up? They were good with wife's pecan pie!

    HomeBrewTalk Survey

^ Another good point. Cooperation is usually a good thing. Some might see it as waning in the marketplace, when in reality everybody's just learning to play nice together for the good of all. But I still think in craft/ home brewing, that market saturation will be cyclical, just like pop & I...

How long in fridge to see menaingful clearing bottles?

I've found it's more a function of time versus temp with chill haze settling time. Some things in brewing can't be short-cutted, in my experiences. :mug:

    Old beer kit

It'll undoubtably be darker from being 6 years old. Replace the dodgy yeast & hops though. Might be worth playing with for that what the hell question...?...

You know you're a home brewer when?

When the one thing you're waiting for the postman to deliver doesn't arrive. But the new rifle that's coming in for pick up is on schedule. Gonna go postal on small game, then wonder what home brew will pair with it!...:mug:

What came in the mail for you today?

My vaping kit came in yesterday, with a ton of those little bottles of different oils to smoke, vape, whatever they call it. Gonna get that going maybe today. Gonna check & see how well my Mumme is settling out in the bottles.
