    You are correct, crab apples are not sweet, but i added some sugar and granny smith's (per the recipe) and that should have sweetened it up a bit..............

    Interesting...So I can use a chest freezer and the temperature range will not necessarily make me "freeze"? I never knew that. I probably would not lager more than a couple batches at a time, so I may be able to talk my wife into buying a bigger freezer, and then using my old small chest...
