Unless there have been some patches I am unaware of, in Win7 x64, FO3 has serious issues with multithreading and crashes randomly. You can address that particular bug with some options in the config file, though.

I agree with victory/vienna/munich...a tiny amount of dark roast malt (e.g. 1-2oz roasted barley) can also help accentuate red color.

I agree with blizzard's assessment. I had one over the weekend and it was pretty hot with fusel alcohol. It was most definitely a sipper.

Baltika #6 has been in the BJCP guidelines (2008 and 2015) as a commercial example of Baltic Porter. It's really the only one I can find regularly.

How were the categories/entries organized? I ask because I judged a BOS a couple of weeks ago using the 2015 BJCP guidelines and the number of beers in the BOS were nearly double from the last one I did, which was using 2008 guidelines. Here's a pic from that one: I think it was a total...

That looks like it would work great so long as my wife never touches it. *sigh* I may end up making some bacon pretty soon. It's starting to get cold enough now that it's nearly feasible to do a colder smoke without rendering all the fat.

Spencer Trappist is a shelf beer. Sadly I haven't seen it around LA yet, but I have seen it on shelves in other parts of CA. Considering that it is brewed all the way across the country in MA, I suspect there are a few places on the East coast that stock it regularly. :p

I have a mandolin, but it's not nearly big enough for bacon.
