    Budweiser is changing it's name

For all you history buffs: Lets remember that the United States of America was ALMOST named "Columbia." I guess they settled for "District of Columbia" for our capital. BTW we got our name from Amerigo Vespucci. Personally I would have chosen "Burly men with guns" Land.

    Video Games

I'm very excited for the next Grand theft Auto and Gran Turismo. The latest versions of both games were made for the PS3, and now that PS4 is out We should see some great stuff for these games. Yes I know that GTA was updated for PS4, but it's still the core game for PS3. They just upped the...

Do beer CAPPERS ever wear out ?

I don't think magnets ever stop working lol. If you have non-ferrous caps then they won't stick. As far as the mechanism is concerned i guess it can wear out. it's mechanical and man-made. It'll break sooner or later.

    The skills gap in America.

Lol oh those engineers. Yes water in a piece of aircraft equipment. The only place we want water is in bottles chilled with ice.

    The skills gap in America.

Yeah laziness is a pandemic in the US. Not gonna argue that one. It does get hairy out here on the flight line, and some of it is back breaking work (moving about batteries and tires and cowlings). It's not for everyone, but someone's gotta do it lol. Anyway the school system is still failing...

    The skills gap in America.

I think being surrounded by Unions in Chicago has led to a sort of biased view for you. A lot of people head up there as skilled laborers, causing a surplus. Certainly not true for the rest of America. There is a real shortage in other areas of the country. Anecdotes from Mike Rowe point to...

    The skills gap in America.

He is the exact person I have been listening to for a while now and honestly, Mike Rowe 2016. A leader for our tomorrow. I'd vote for the man in a heartbeat no question.

    The skills gap in America.

Sorry. I digressed from the topic at hand. We all agree and see the same outlook for our childrens future. We need to talk about what we can actually do. I personally will get in contact and stay in contact with my high school and hope to at least let them know about STEM (should be STEAM to...

    The skills gap in America.

4 year degrees are almost useless for aviation. While it IS nice for a pilot to have an aeronautical engineering degree so they can actually tell me what the he** is wrong with the plane (you'd be surprised how little pilots actually know about planes), it's certainly not needed to be a good...

    The skills gap in America.

Lol ;) Yeah I choose family over work so I don't like to spend all day here. In any case im a lone site mechanic so I'm on my own schedule. How long have you been with Delta? I would love to get into Fed Ex. I do cargo now so I'd love to stay with it. In any case I recently actually sent an...

    The skills gap in America.

Good Monday morning all. First of all let me ask this: Who on here is a fellow skilled laborer? What do you guys do for work and how did you get your skills? On to the gist of my post. I wanted to mention to people or ask for peoples opinion on the enormous skills gap. Jobs that don't...

So I sampled before bottling and....

Yeah I'll sample the bottles along the way. This was an extract recipe. As far as water is concerned I had you all look at my water report and from that I added campden tablets and calcium chloride to the water. I'm confident it'll all mellow out but just needed to hear it from you all haha.

So I sampled before bottling and....

It certainly tasted like a pale ale, but it had about two or three other flavors that hit you one right after the other. It even had a SALTY note. It'll be bottled for about 3 weeks at least. Will these complex flavors mellow into one smooth beer? I fermented in low to mid 60's.

old ass extract homebrew safe to drink?

James May once sampled a beer that was bottled in 1869. Made him a bit sick. You should be ok to try it at least :)

Two more things: :) I will certainly leave it alone. This was the first time i cracked it open and it was to get a sample. I hashed out the priming sugar on another section here. I'm going to use 4oz. Yes 3 weeks till I crack one open.

The yeast came with the kit and was Muntons Brewers yeast. No specific strain listed. I believe it is an Ale yeast, and ideal temp is 57-77 degrees. I pitched at 75 (too soon I know) and got it down to 66 by the time fermentation kicked off. Since then it's been at 63-65 the whole time. 5 to 7...
