    First Robobrew 3L short

Heres what a 16 lb grain bill looks like!

    Cordless Drill Preference

Just milled 16 lbs in a barley crusher with DeWalt 20v - I don't miss hauling out a cord!

    CraigTube is back!

I never heard of him until he got shut down! Great inadvertent advertising benefit :) I subscribed and watched my first video on kegging (part 4?) - love that star-san plume!

That looks like second generation (screw cap on one end)

    First Robobrew 3L short

I think the most I’ve done is 16.5 lbs. For anything bigger I’m swapping some base malt for DMS.

    First Robobrew 3L short

Mostly I let Beersmith set the volumes but I like big beers and if the grain bill is over 16 lbs I shift some water into the sparge So everything fits.

    First Robobrew 3L short

Yeah, I shift volume between mash and sparge all the time. Theres a couple things I do to make sure I hit volume: I set up a sight tube off the dump valve to be sure I sparge to pre boil volume and using the Robobrew pump, tilt the RB to get everything possible Into the fermenter.

    First Robobrew 3L short

No, 5.75 gal post boil in the Robobrew, 5.25 gal in the fermenter. So, 1 gal per hour.

How do your volume numbers compare to mine?
  10. rjhoff

    First Robobrew 3L short

I use Beersmith which has decent profiles for equipment and mash. Are you sparging? For similar grain weight and boil time, I’ve got 5.5 gal mash in, 6.75 gal pre boil, for 5.25 gallon output. I sparge enough water to get 6.75 pre-boil (usually ~2.6 gal). My mash grist ratio is always 1.7 with...

    Anvil foundry vs Robobrew?

I own a robobrew 3.0 35L w/ pump and am reasonably satisfied with it. I've never seen an Anvil system let alone brewed on it, so its tough to provide a valid comparison. I understand Anvil has dual voltage, which is cool. Most of my negatives with Robobrew are related to big beers, 16 lb grain...

    Ball Lock vs Pin Lock

Agree with camonick. I happen to own pin lock. They work fine for me and I buy my kegs used, so no issue finding them.

    Ball Lock vs Pin Lock

There's tons of threads on this. Either one is fine, ball lock items are more prevalent though.

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

I double checked on the posted photo and it shows the polycarbonate Tube replaces the stainless pump tube, so it’s mounted top and bottom.

    Robobrew regrets?

I checked with Williams Brewing, I don't think they were aware of it but said to expect availability in the fall or early winter.

Kegland is offering a polycarbonate sight glass retrofit. Currently out of stock there, so could be a while before we see it in the states. https://www.kegland.com.au/polycarbonate-sight-glass-2-piece-set-1.html

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

A clean thread for Robobrew and Brewzilla owners to compare experiences and share problems. I own a version 3.0 35L Robobrew With the upgraded 3.1.1 Brewzilla circuit boards. No regrets for me! I‘m sometimes frustrated by its limited capacity, but I’m learning workarounds to enable brewIng of...

    Robobrew regrets?

I started a new thread, Robobrew/Brewzilla discussion, for no other reason than I have no regrets :)
