Ventilation for basement electric BrewEasy system

In the pic I took though, the tube that goes to the MT from one of the HERMS ports is hanging down and not connected

Ventilation for basement electric BrewEasy system

The far right kettle is my HLT with a HERMS coil. The bottom port is the outlet, the top port is my recirculation port, and the two middle ports are my HERMS in/out.

Ventilation for basement electric BrewEasy system

I kept it really simple and just flipped a Rubbermaid tote. I didn't have an ounce of condensation inside the hood last weekend on its maiden voyage and the size of the tote allowed for all steam to be captured.

Great compilation of links and "how-to". There a number of items that I wish I would have looked for cheaper now that I've gone through your links... Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for the time and input!!

20 gal 3 Vessel Stout Kettles eHERMs Basement Build

Well...... Brew session = 5 hrs (no problems) Chill = 1.5 hrs (problems, see below for explanation) Cleanup = 1.5 hrs (need to better plan out next time Brew Session Recap That was awesome! The HLT herms did an amazing job of maintaining temps once I figured out the offset between my dial...

20 gal 3 Vessel Stout Kettles eHERMs Basement Build

After spending the day putting the finishing touches on the brewery, I now have a complete 20 gal electric single tier system, exhaust hood, and 15 gal fermenter. The system and stand are done for now, the exhaust hood will have a temporary outlet through foam board that I'll put in the doorway...

Pennsylvania 1BBL Electric brewery for Sale 3200

Maybe think of listing this on probrewer.com. Might have some luck selling this as a complete pilot system to a somewhat local nano/micro

20 gal 3 Vessel Stout Kettles eHERMs Basement Build

Look what arrived today... my new 15 gal fermenter!!! Placed an order last weekend for the conical and fittings with a shipping date of 8-10wks straight from the manufacturer. Welcomed surprise that 8-10 wks turned into 5 days.

20 gal 3 Vessel Stout Kettles eHERMs Basement Build

That's what I read on the electricbrewery website. I think Kal removed a screw from the housing of his vortex fan to allow any condensation to leak out. He also suggested putting silicone in the hole between the fan housing and the attached electrical box wiring to keep moisture out of that...

How to fix crack in CFC not fitting??

I've got the JB weld steel stick or do you think I would have better luck with the epoxy? Also considering having a stainless welder just weld a 1/2" stainless coupler on or the Triclamp im using and remove the cracked brass fitting altogether. Not sure of the cost for these options yet

20 gal 3 Vessel Stout Kettles eHERMs Basement Build

Completed a water test last night and auto tuned the PID. Besides a small hiccup, everything went smoothly and DAMN do I like being inside when it's 16 F outside!! When heating the water from 55 to 142 to check for a temp offset and then start the auto tune, the heating element didn't shut down...

How to fix crack in CFC not fitting??

I finally got around to using a CFC that I purchased used and it turned out that there's a small crack around the neck of the 1/2" NPT fitting that I thread the TC fitting into. Should I JB weld this or have a new NPT fitting welded on?

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

Thanks, saw that in an earlier post and it looked great, was just hoping to use a bottle I already had at first. Good/bad is that the fermenter isn't shipping for 8-10wks (according to rural king.com) so I've got time to get everything together

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

Back to the drawing board as the water bottle didn't fit quite right. I know I could replicate the other PVC catchers but I kinda wanted to see the yeast collecting in the bottle.

2" TC x 1" NPS adapters (from Stout)

Edit: one remaining -$15 shipped Title says it all. These came with the HLT and BK I ordered and will allow a water heater heater element to be threading into the adapter for a kettle. Here a link to Stout's website for the 1.5" TC version, I've just got the 2" TC version since I increased...

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

So this is what I'm thinking... 1.5" PVC adapter with male threading for the banjo coupler connection http://m.lowes.com/pd/LASCO-1-12-in-Dia-PVC-Sch-40-Adapter/3339826 Then a 1.5" x 3" PVC adapter from the above piece to the water bottle I have with a 3" opening...
