Echoing everyone else -- spares are your friends. I have 3 tanks and it has saved me repeatedly. Agree, 3-5 batches per tank.

Silly question on using Stir Plates

Pouring slowly, I can pitch the entire starter but save the bar. If it goes in... no big deal. I get it whenever I rack the beer (typically to the bottling bucket).

    Backwardgate........ Beer 100 (birthday beer)

Nice. Actually, as far as approach, I guess these days I operate much the same here. Get an idea, maybe look at a few recipes for inspiration, then use Brewer's Friend to craft my own version. Although it depends on my familiarity with the style, I suppose. Congrats on the long-term...

    Vienna Lager Brad's Vienna Lager

I know this is an old thread, but @Yooper is a huge fan of this recipe and I'm looking to do a Vienna Lager, I have similar questions -- but I don't even SEE the decoction schedule. I assume it must be in the .rec and .xml files, which I am unable to import/use. Is the decoction schedule...

HELP - when to add tart cherry concentrate to Berliner Weisse?

I'm wondering if anyone with experience can suggest when to add tart cherry concentrate to a Berliner Weisse, in pursuit of a Cherry Wheat ale? FWIW, I'm seeking to emulate (not necessarily clone) Petoskey Brewing's Michigan Cherry Wheat, which is quite delicious and popular with someone close...
