    I'm fairly new at this but when your temp was out of whack could it have resulted in the conversion of less fermentable sugars. Could be the reason for the sweet taste also maybe fermentation was stalled resulting in dms and sweetness

    Only fill their own growlers?

    Well call me crazy but I for one would not drink from a growler. The only way I would is if they worked on a exchange program for the simple reason of sanitation. How do you know the person before you cleaned theirs? Call me nuts but it's a good way to spread pathogens

    Heavy with minerals just don't know the make up of it. I have well water.
