Brewing my second brew. Double IPA.

Thanks for the reassurance. Still learning to just have a HB and not worry.

Brewing my second brew. Double IPA.

I'm a little worried about this. I have an Imperial dry hopping right now that fermented lime crazy and has been stable for over a week (FG was reached in 4 days and hasn't moved since). Is there still enough yeast left to carbonate or did it spend itself in the primary?

Brewers Best California Imperial Pale Ale

Update: Stole a sample after a week of dry hopping and it tastes great. I could drink this stuff right out of the secondary! Citra dry hopping gave a nice, mellow aroma.

    What are you drinking now?

Just stole a sample of my 9.3% Imperial IPA that's been dry hopping on 2oz of Citra for a week. I could drink this straight out of the carbouy, it's so good.

    Daisy Cutter Pale Ale

Thanks EricT. Are you suggesting whole hops in dry-hopping only or throughout the brewing process?

    Daisy Cutter Pale Ale

Can't wait to try this. I'm curious about what gives Daisy Cutter its "grassy" aroma. I'm 4 kits into brewing and think it's about time to experiment a little more. I also live about a mile away from Half Acre and have the same access to Chicago water that they do. I'll report back when I get...

Brewers Best California Imperial Pale Ale

Assuming we are talking about the BB Imperial Pale Ale, I brewed up a batch a couple Saturdays ago and man did it ferment! Lag time was about 10 hours and produced a 3-inch krausen within 2 days. I had it in a carbouy and it was so turbulent it looked like it was boiling! Settled down on day 5...

    How did you find us?

Initially a Google search while trying to figure out how to adjust the OG of a brew. Now I've got the iPhone app and read posts daily.
