I personally wouldn't worry about it at all... To answer your question: Almost nothing eats teflon.... its basically as inert and indestructable as polymers get. It will be fine if you dip the whole assembly.

Seriously it doesn't matter. Mapp and propane are rather close in combustion temps when used with air. Where do these random misconceptions come from lol?

I've become so jaded about scholastics since I started working in the real world. I'm back slaving away for my MSEE. Scored a 45/90 on my midterm for my device physics class... high grade in the class btw.... I'm starting to think all the pure academic profs in engineering are just worthless...

I use this exact same technique. That harbor freight vacc pump will get down to about 22in/hg. I think all totaled with the mason jars I was at $30 to store 5lbs of hops :)

Your nose is correct Bk. The watt density of an SSR is no where even near the realm of a modern <90nm microprocessor (which is around the same heat density of the surface of the sun!!). The normal, white, Si based grease is just fine. Way to hold that company to their false advertisement Pol!

If you have say $150 to spend on a cheap harbor freight welder/angle grinder/disks you can weld that black pipe with ease.... Speaking from experience :D Edit: Now that I think of it, you'd probably break even with the cheapo welding setup since you wouldn't need to buy all the couplings....
