Hey everybody, I'll be in Seattle this weekend and I wanted to know your favorite bars or brew pubs in the downtown area. I'm staying near 7th and pike and I have a few hours free on Saturday night (maybe Sunday night depending on whether or not my girlfriend is in a bad mood after the Seahawks...

    Austin Homebrew Supply Coconut Porter

I added 3 lbs of toasted shaved coconut as well as the meat out of 2 fresh coconuts in the primary after fermentation was complete. It was a really good beer but I still wish I would have used another few pounds of the toasted.

    Motorcycle Fanatics, show your ride(s)

2005 Honda VTX 1300C. Here are some pics from right after the major re-build about 2 years ago. Since then I've added forward controls and put some foam grips on (the metal ones had pretty bad vibration).

    rugby world cup 2011

I play for a rugby team here and we all chipped in a few bucks to buy the package at someone's house and we all have an open invite to watch all of the games there. There were about 5 or 6 guys that went to work friday morning on zero sleep, smelling like bums. I woke up on the back patio...

Which sport do you enjoy drinking beer to the most?(poll)

Football is my favorite sport to watch but I actually like to follow whats going on so I only drink moderately. MMA on the other hand, I love watching and its just as enjoyable if I'm hammered. trigger- Rugby is definitely the best sport to play while drinking. I play for a D3 team here...

How much beer do you drink daily?

I probably average 15-20 pints per week over the course of a month. I don't drink a consistent amount though. On a random tuesday I might have 6 or 7 and then not drink at all that weekend, it just depends on what else is going on.

maybe a stupid question but how do I get my taps tight?

I used a thin sheet of rubber and made large rubber washers to go under the jam nut on the shank. I also put extra wood backing on the insulation for the fridge door so I can tighten the nut up quite a bit. This washer helps keep traction between the jam nut and and wood backing but thirsty...

    Difficulty getting disconnects on corny

Lube will make the post go in alot easier and the fit will start to loosen up as the o-rings get worn out from use. ;)

Aging or Maturing - Does it make a difference?

Now that I've gotten my pipeline built up, I let everything sit in primary at least 2 months and I'm definitely not regretting it. I used to keep everything in primary 3 weeks then keg. The beer would be good when I tapped the keg but when I got down to about a gallon left, it was phenomenal...

    don't you hate it when...

Last weekend I had a party with about 25 BMC drinkers. I got a suprising amount of positive feedback on my brews but 5 or 6 different people said that my toasted coconut porter tasted like Guinness. I think the only thing they both have in common is they are not yellow and they are both served...

My favorite beer right now is SN Torpedo IPA. The sixer I bought last night was $8.99.

    One Meat Forever...

If fish and shellfish were lumped together I might have gone that direction, but it will have to be pork. So many different cuts and so many different ways to cook them.

    Kegerator lost power :(

I had the same thing happen to me about a month ago. The inside of my kegerator was at 90* for about 36 hrs. The beer tasted exactly the same as before the temp increase, after I chilled it back down.

    20 beers. No hangover?

Ya, I normally feel fine in the morning regardless of how much homebrew I drink. On Sunday I made the mistake of switching to 8.5% apfelwein about 12 beers in because me and my friend kicked the other 3 kegs I had on tap in about a 30 minute period and it was only 10 pm so we weren't going to...

    Freaking out!!

Your Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale input

I love the Stone Sublimely, its one of my favorite beers. That being said, I recently brewed a batch of AHS's Black Imperial Rye IPA and I like it better. I (as well as a few of my friends) think its better than any commercial example I've had. I know it has the Imperial and Rye part added...

    Beer and your dog...

Funny. I have a pit and a german shepherd(mixed with akita) also and it sounds like they have similar tastes. My pit LOVES beer. His favorites are Cali Common and suprisingly, my Black Imperial Rye IPA. I just pour a few teaspoons on the patio and he licks it off. My german shepherd is...
